  • Manny Pacquiao has a lot more to lose if Clottey beats him then if
Floyd fought and beat him. At the very end of the day, I think Arum
is controlling the stings on all his fighters and this is the best situation
for him $ wise. Have to take heed to fighters like Oscar and Floyd
leaving him and after their careers taking off. Seems to me like Arum
is a control freak and if he is not on the upside to every deal then he
doesn't want to see it happening. This is the same Bob Arum that didn't
want to make the Oscar/Mayweather Jr fight when Floyd was with Arum
because he didn't like De La Hoya and had beef with him at the time
for leaving him. Pac, Cotto and all the rest under Top Rank does it
Arum's way. I am not going to say Clottey beats Pac or vice versa
but am hoping Clottey pulls an upset to further his career and put him
in a position to do bigger things considering how long he has been
waiting for an opportunity like this. I hope Mayweather/Mosley happens.
Like I said, this fiasco made Boxing a lil more interesting but still feel
Pac ducked the random blood tests and will continue to do so.

If Clottey awkwardly lunges ito his punches as he did against Cotto, Paquiao's gonna counter with 4-5 punch combos while he's off balance with his chin up. I don't think it's as dangerous a fight for Manny as some would suggest.
To be fair, Manny Pacquiao lunges forward too and at times is
very unbalanced. Clottey's defense, counter punching and patience
could be diffult for Pacquiao to figure out because Manny is at his
best against come forward, aggressive fighters but when his opponents
wait for an opening Pacquaio takes his time to figure out how to lead.
If Clottey can up his work rate then he has a good chance but if he
steps off the gas then Pacquiao could possibly out work him for
a decision. All in all will know on March 13th.

      • I'm sure this fight has already been beaten up already...but I really believe will fight his hardest, and is not a "pushover" I cannot say that Clottey is a "real test" since Pac already beaten Cotto(in my mind that was the "real test") Clottey is a good defensive boxer that picks his shots very well. Clottey may not be the most active boxer in the ring, that is, not a volume puncher, but he defenitely makes up for it in sheer tenacity, pressure and percision.
I like clottey for this fight...it will be entertaining to say the least!

        • I feel like the end result will be somewhat similar to Cotto-Pac, if the fight does happen.

          • Anyone here will buy this fight? especially if there's a Margarito undercard?

            I would.

no way clottey will fight nothing like cotto did clottey will not allow pac to get him on his bike at all in their fight and clottey has a better defense and stronger chin as well. i am a big cotto fan but he did not have same mental toughness and confidence since the margs fight and he allowed manny to bully him around the ring. clottey is a strong guy who goes into the ring at about 170 and he will be the aggressor as far as coming forward in this fight.

                • Another YES!!!Clottey Is Tough An So Is Pac...

...An explosive fight in March..I give credit to Pac for fighting Clottey..Clottey is one tough SOB. This will be a great fight to watch but I guess the question is will it do good in the market..I hope so. If this fight sells a million PPV..then Pac is the man. Africa will be tuning in to see this fight t support. Mr. Clottey.

Kudos to both fighters for finalizing this fight w/o demands.

                    • It will be similar to Cotto/Pac fight..

..but if Clottey fights the way he did against Cotto the fight will end before the 7th round. Clottey will definitely win IF he decides to go for broke the 1st 2 rounds otherwise another Pac KO win.
