Floyd Mayweather vs Shane Mosley: Why the Change of Heart?

Why is Mayweather deciding to fight Mosley all of a sudden? Just seems strange after he blew him off back in September. Did Mayweather blow him off because he wanted Pacquiao if he could beat Cotto? Afterall, Mayweather Jr did pick Pacquiao to win that fight. Then there's the other side of it. Is Mayweather just trying to get the next biggest payday he can since negotions with Pacquiao fell through? Is he just trying to take away Pacquiao's options?

if mosley beats berto and mosley/mayweather fight and mayweather wins, its much bigger negotiation leverage against pac, who would be fighting a guy who just lost to cotto whom pac just knocked out. Not to mention, on PPV, mosley/mayweather is FAR more attractive.

Well, Floyd has to worry about fan perception as well. At this point its about the only fight that won't make the mainstream fans cry foul. He's gotta come out of this with some leverage, and frankly fighting Paulie or Matthew would be doom for him here in his main market of America. Sure he'd make money overseas with Hatton, but we'd be so outraged that we might think twice about paying for his fights again. Beating Mosley (assuming he beats Berto) would give him tremendous leverage and would have more people on his "side" as it were.

He probably wanted to wait until the Pac-Cotto winner was decided so he could plan his next move. Now that the Pac fight hasn't gone to plan, Mosley is back in the picture. Things change I guess. Hope this goes through, I think it would be a good fight.
