All these other demands that fighters make constantly bend the rules within the comission regardless. Things like catchweights, mandatories being avoided yet keeping youre belt, creating new belts for catchweights, imposing ungodly penalties for being overweight, fighters picking each others gloves. Adjusting the 10oz glove rules for 8oz if both fighters comply.

Upping the ante on drug testing is just something that bends the rules on what the commission already does. New rules and precedents get set in sports all the time.

The problem is floyd mayweather and manny paquiao. one guy is viewed as a universal ******* and the other is a virtual saint.

So you attack the messenger and not the message. It doesnt matter anymore regardless. This is honestly one of the dumbest sports ever. Only in this sport do people celebrate like "YEA MY FIGHTER IS IN CONTROL, YOU WANT A FIGHT WITH HIM YOU GOTTA BEG"

    or

"IM GLAD THIS FIGHT ISNT HAPPENING, I HOPE FIGHTER X GOES BROKE TOO!!"

all this posturing, **** sukking and everything else has created an envoirment where the best possible fight not being made, is ok as long as the fighter you like comes out looking good. **** this concept.

also, these mayweather KFC images are offensive as ****.

The same ****** rhetoric mayweather fans used on here for years when he was number 1 is exactly what pac fans have turned into. Like i said. this is a ****** sport outside the ring. Im dissapointed to say im even a fan of this **** right now.

OK now that this is brought to light. Do you believe the NSAC and other commissions will get some heat for have weak drug testing?

Do you think this will help make the commission get stricter drug testing?

second of all, judging from what im reading, most of this isnt even mayweathers idea, its ellerbe and his management that pushed hard for this.

third of all, i dont think mayweathers team had any idea how vehemetly pac and his team would try to not just spin this, but bring a legal matter into it.

the thing is, american atheletes are used to being under a microscope of su****ion. I do attribute some cultural difference and i also think pacs team has been feeding him things that may or may not even be true regarding negotiations. I will say if pac didint have a leigon of followers ready to take a load to the face for him if nessecary, this would be an even bigger deal than it is, if he was a western athelete i do think hed be on a different playing field media wise.

Here in the states there is alot of su****ion, but what does it matter when not only is he not one of our own, but hes treated like a diety in his home country? I think as long as arum and roach basically tell him whatever, and pacquiao isnt exactly the brightest lightbulb in the drawer, i think this whole thing was bound to be a disaster.

When you have two people with monster egos, one of them thinks they are the greatest ever, the other one is smart as a rock but has a country behind him to help him leverage, you get results like this, and you get another reason why boxing outside of the ring is the worst sport on the planet.
                'nuff said. great post.

i thought you wanted him to fight anyway? isn't that what you and horus claim on your little show?

if he wants it so bad, and if he's as great as he claims he is, drop the demands....IF he drops his demands, i bet you anything we get a fight signed by tuesday

but that's if he 'really' wants the fight...i dont think he does

The NSAC will do whatever the big name promoters steer them to do. Its not about doing the right thing, its about doing what brings them the big fights in vegas.

Margarito/Cotto was almost moved out of vegas when arum threatened to pull out because he wanted 8oz gloves when the rules recently got changed to 10oz to protect fighters from the previous death in the ring.

They then changed the rules so that as long as the fighters agree, its ok.
Arum set a new precedent, and nobody cared. Like i said, this is about the messenger not the message.

I think they said they wouldn't have time to change their policy for that fight, and I'm not sure they'd adopt it anyway. I hope someone tries to get it passed.

I really think the commission doesn't want it, because they don't want fights cancelled or rescheduled. And the promoters probably don't want it, in general, because they stand to lose fighters to bans, and lose money to cancellations.
