I think so. Joe Koizumi is a pretty good writer, but I think he was a bit unflattering in his write up of him. He gives you this perception that he's like a Carl Froch.

However, he's got a decent jab and right hand, but he favors the left hook. He likes to throw a left hook-chopping right hand combo on the inside.

He's a bit like Cotto in that he uses his gloves like ear muff and can be hit with jabs. He doesn't hunch over that much though.

Keep in mind, he's going to have every physical advantage over Poon, and he's coming down in weight.

He does hunch over at times and trades on the inside.

That's Poon's game but I agree this guy is better than Koziumi made him out to be.

Poon's never been dropped, so if this guy fight inside and gets wild he's toast but if he boxes he has a good chance and it's in Japan so who knows.

But he's not that big and Poon is a tank, who actually relishes a war.

        We'll see soon.

I didn't mean to imply he's a tank, if I did. It's more of a case of Poon being small for the weight class. It's impressve that he's able to fight at a high level at 122 (118 previously), when he's the height of many flyweights and below.

Yeah, I meant Poon is a tank and he's fought plenty of guys 5'7 Somsak and Dunne as two examples and Cordoba who's even taller.

So we'll see what this guy has against him.

I'm definitely looking forward to it.

I slept through my alarm so I didn't wake up to see it, but by all accounts that I've read, Uchiyama dominated him.

Two refs had him up 107-102, and the other had it 106-103.
