Edwin Valero vs. Manny Pacquiao is a better fight! (Or will Manny duck him too)

Edwin Valero vs. Manny Pacquiao in Texas is a better fight!
    January 8, 2010
    By Jorge Conejo

Edwin Valero of Venezuela has been chasing a fight with Filipino boxing king Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao for a long time now and with the failure to come to an agreement on drug testing procedures for the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao fight, Valero would be a great option to replace Mayweather.

Now is the best time for Bob Arum of Top Rank Promotions to make Valero vs. Pacquiao happen, especially since he promotes both of them.

Edwin Valero fights fire with fire, the fans will not be disappointed with Valero vs. Pacquiao, but it seems like Arum is going with Joshua Clottey instead. Clottey doesn’t like to trade toe to toe and will cover up and only throw one or two punches at a time to win on points.

If Bob Arum wants a sure fire action pack fight that the fans will enjoy…. I suggest that he gives Edwin Valero the shot over Clottey. The fight can be held at Dallas Cowboys stadium in Texas where Valero is cleared to fight. Not to mention there are plenty of Latinos in Texas who love boxing and will attend this fight.

Making a Clottey vs. Pacquiao fight would be a very big mistake in my opinion.

If Edwin Valero KO’s Pacquiao, Arum will have a new mega star in his hands to take over the crown of most exciting fighter. If Clottey beats Pacquiao, Arum has a hard sell in Clottey because he is a defensive fighter who lacks killer instinct.

It would be far too risky for Arum to sacrifice Manny Pacquiao to a defensive fighter like Clottey who doesn’t have a marketable fighting style like Valero.

I hope the boxing fans agree with me on having Edwin Valero as a better replacement for Mayweather. You can’t go wrong with Edwin Valero and Manny Pacquiao they always deliver fireworks and if they fought each other you are guaranteed a shoot out and someone will be lying on the canvas.

Valero would have no shot against Pacquiao. He is a wild brawler with little boxing skill, and a fighter like that gets put down in 4 or less every time against Pac. Not to mention Valero is two weight classes below where Pacquiao is.

Dayum Floyd, can you please stop posting on this board and do some training? That fighter you just mentioned is unknown and ****. Not to mention he doesn't know the meaning of defense.

Hurry up and train for Hatton, trust me my dude, you'll need it.

If he ever gets a visa, your boy can only fight in Texas. LMAO

After an MRI scan in New York in 2005, Valero was found to have brain abnormalities, courtesy of a serious motorcycle accident some years before, and has since been denied a license to fight in any US state, bar Texas.

So you expect Team Pacquiao to pull strings just to accomodate that brain-damaged fella?

                  LMAO
