I know Danny I used to train with him at the Brixton boxing club above the Half Moon Pub next to Brockwell Park. He was about 16 at the time and I remember conversations with him about his dream of wanting to fight Tyson one day.At the time it was all pipe dream talk and I remember talking to him about it saying it was more of a nightmare than a dream apart from the money.Amazing his dream came true. Danny is a really nice guy,he was very religious then only a Christian not a ******. There was anotherg heavyweight there same age as Danny at the club who is a good friend of mine and lived at my flat Michael Bovel and he used to put a beating on Danny but never took it further. Mike was the better prospect.I tried to convince Mike to turn pro ,if he had worked he would have gone further than Danny and Danny went futher than I thought he would. Danny loved Jersey Joe Walcott and used to watch his videos and copy his moves.
When Danny fought Tyson I was in Thailand and because of the time difference and I did not want to see my friend get the **** beaten out of him I decided not to watch the fight live. I have the same feelings about the up coming fight so maybe it is an omen and Danny will win it. Personally I want Danny to quit and leave boxing in good health, he has had a good career and done his bit. but if the right Danny turns up he is well capable of pulling off an upset.

Sexton will take it in five.
Danny has been a good servent to British boxing but its time to hang them up.

I really like the domestic scene in the British isles....the heavyweight scene that is.sexton,Williams, chisora, mcdermott, fury,Harrison ,Skelton,David price....nice mix of domestic matchups between these guys.
