Because there are a lot of 14 year olds here who were only 9 or 10 at the time I thought a little history lesson was in order. Anybody who reads the first post in this thread who can't see that it was Arum and Pacquiao who ducked out of that first fight is simply a tool that should be banned from the NSB section of this site so rational fight fans can converse without babysitting going forward.

Its not the remarks by the posters, dummy..its Arums comments admitting Pac said no to a 14 day cutoff which was more than reasonable. Then of course they got some bag like Clottey as soon as they could so they wouldn't be forced to continue negotiating with Floyd.

Manny and Arum ducked Floyd in those first negotiations. Why?

1. Pac was dirty.

2. Arum was robbing Pac and didn't want to open the books

3. Arum knew Floyd would beat Manny and he masterminded this whole thing and dumb Manny went along with it.

How was it more than reasonable when Floyd's demands in the first place weren't reasonable?

If Manny was dirty then why accept full random urine testing and have his own cut-off dates that were only 10 days apart from Floyd? All they needed to do is cut it down the middle or something but unfortunately they didn't.

Also, Floyd and company ACCUSED Manny with no proof of taking PEDs. If you want to get a fight on, you don't want to throw your opponent under the bus like that. All that did was get people in court (ie. sued).

Only one side continued with his roadblocks since then. One issue is forgiving but after a while, all roads lead to Floyd ducking .... man, Floyd even says so in his interviews! "I'm not interested in fighting Manny"

Pac and Arum walked away from the fight and though Pac is begging for the fight bow, Arum continues to avoid it. Arum and Pac could easily arrange for Pacquiao to do a one fight deal with Floyd without Arum so Manny can get paid...but watch. Arum will flip Manny 5 million or so to resign with Top Rank and thus. Manny will continue to duck Floyd. 40 million wasn't good enough for Manny, but now Manny is willing to fight him for free ? GTFOH

Nope. Manny and Arum ducked out of that first fight. Who cares if they called him out because they thought he was cheating. Boxers say shift all the time and still fight. Floyd was ten times worse towards Oscar and others and they still fought. Another excuse for pacbots.

The facts remain that Pac and Arum quit on the first negotiations and they walked away over a 14 day cutoff.
