Just watch as much boxing as you can. You will pick up on nuances just like you do watching any other sport. Watch Friday Night Fights tonight.

Guess not... FNF is on ESPN2 and we're about halfway through it. Even so it's the same deal... couple young fighters who haven't fought a lot. You'll probably get some of that on TSN.

The best way to learn about boxing is to actually go to a boxing gym but apart from that, watch as much boxing as you can and don't just look at the superficial things, study their movements and why whatever just happened happened. Read up about the sport. Won't come overnight but with patience you'll get it.

Oh there are so many factors it's not even funny. Drawing power matters a lot, the weight matters a lot (lower weights often bring less money except for the top guys). The stars get paid a TON more than the unknown guys... we could see a fighter making a couple hundred thousand for a title fight while another guy is making millions.

Learn about one fighter, then think to yourself he's the greatest of all time and you will fit in here perfectly.

You can stream friday night fights on various websites, i think there may be a way to stream it from espn, Teddy Atlas will painfully explain boxing to you, over and over and over and over again, but you'll learn to love the weirdo.... or hate em.... I suggest a Teddy Atlas Drinking game, (any time he messes up an analogy or a saying take a shot - any time he says "****" take a shot, etc etc, theres a bunch of em, just depends on how drunk you want to be by the end of the FNF)
