    ESPN Duo Blames Mayweather

Mike Wilbon on “PTI”: “I blame Mayweather. He came up with all this blood stQuff. He can make $40-50 million. We know fighters have done ****** things and blown big opportunities. I am shocked if this fight doesn’t come off. Mayweather looks bad on this.”

Tony Kornheiser on “PTI”: “It’s off today, on tomorrow. The terrible risk is to lose somewhere on the way. It’s hard for me to believe this fight won’t happen. If I have to blame somebody it’s Mayweather.”

I don't think this is a bad thing for Floyd. In fact, I'd say it's good.

            Mayweather seals up coward legacy
            January 7, 6:50 AM
Mississippi Fight Sports Examiner Brad Cooney

Nobody knows how to screw up a so called legacy better than Floyd Mayweather Jr. He can also thank his father and his uncle for assisting with the destruction by launching steroid accusations to every boxing media source known to man. The Manny Pacquiao vs Floyd Mayweather Jr fight is officially off, and the blame has to land on the laps of the Mayweather team.

Mayweather walking away from this fight just throws fuel on the fire and all but seals up what all of his detractors have been saying for years, he's afraid to fight real competition. Mayweather will soon enough regret this decision. Ego, pride, and ignorance all mixed up into a bottle. These are the ingredients that one needs in order to successfully destroy a 30 million dollar prize.

How many times in ones life does a person have an opportunity to make 30 million dollars? Mayweather's legacy will most certainly go down as a man who cherry picked his opponents in order to gain advantage. Now he will be forever remembered as an undefeated fighter that fought smaller guys, and walked away from a 30 million dollar super fight. Now he will be remembered as a guy that most feel never wanted to fight Pacquiao in the first place.

Pacquiao has taken on all comers throughout his career. With his recent blowouts over De La Hoya, Hatton, and Cotto, he has sent a message. That message landed on Mayweather's head and it said, " Hey big fella, you ready to finally get some respect? Fight me." Mayweather read that message, and by walking away from this fight, he replied, "No thanks man, I think I will pass so I can keep this undefeated record."

This was a horrible decision for Mayweather to make. Not only for monetary reasons, but it also stinks up his legacy to the point where it's not fixable. The only way Mayweather salvages what's left of an already tarnished reputation is to change his mind and man up and fight Pacquiao. Until that happens, he's all but sealed up his reputation as a man that looked for the easy way out.

Manny is a decent human being. Outside of the ring, as well as inside. And that's why the people who support him do, because fundamentally they know his good heart and character (beyond what is seen in HBO PPV), the fact that he loves boxing and would never do anything to taint the sport he loves so much, and especially given the fact that there's NO PROOF whatsoever to convict him, other than not totally giving in to Floyd's outrageous and unprecedented demands for blood testing. (He already did agree to blood tests contrary to what some are portraying that he's totally dodging it)

Floyd on the other hand, has acted like a punk much throughout his career, and has many times shown total disregard to what boxing fans like or think. He's a self-proclaimed greatest fighter in a division where he doesn't have the elite on his resume (Mosley, Margo, Cotto, Clottey, and now Manny). And now, he has chosen to play this dirty game against Manny by taking the fight out of the ring and has turned it all into a mud-slinging media circus.

When the storm is over, history will side with the right one and expose who the real ducker was in all this!
