5 questions I have in regards to a Clottey victory.

    1. What does this do to Clottey's pound for pound ranking and welterweight ranking?

    2. What will it do for Clottey's star power?

    3. Who will Clottey fight next? Mayweather? Berto/Mosley winner? Cotto rematch?

    4. Does this (a Clottey win) take away too much steam from Pacquiao/Mayweather?

    5. Does Clottey even have a good chance at beating Pacquiao?

I'm glad Clottey is getting some exposure. This is a guy who has been managed badly and this is his chance to make a name for himself.

He would go up the rankings in WW and maybe reach top 10 p4p based on who he beat.

He'd become more known but I don't know if he'd just be seen as another Buster Douglas to casuals.

Whoever wins in the fight between Mayweather and the Berto/Mosley winner is my guess.

Yes, although if Pac destroys someone before Mayweather can fight Clottey people might still clamour for it believing Floyd would lose and that it was just a blip for Manny.

I don't really think so, because he has a tendency to just stand there in a shell and Manny's whirlwind of punches wouldn't allow him to get off when he goes defensive. Manny would gain points because he looks active and aggressive while Clottey just soaks it up. His best chance is a KO I believe.

Same here. I believe he beat Cotto and would like to see them rematch one day, but Miguel definitely deserves a rest, maybe even a year off.

      1. Probably puts him in top 3 welterweights and perhaps a nudge into top10 P4p. Takes more than 1 win to do that maybe. No one can debate his skills, just needs to pull out the fights to earn that spot.

      2. Depends on how he wins. Can you imagine if he stopped Pac? To be honest, his name is gonna be on ESPN win or lose. People will want to know who the guy Pac's fighting instead of Mayweather.

      3. Clottey may become even more ducked if he can beat Pac. Maybe Shane Berto winner to Crown a lineal champ?

      4. I think so. You have the #1 vs #2 in Pac/May. Unfortunately, if Pac loses and goes on to fight Mayweather you will hear all the detractors say "oh, Floyd only fought him coming off a loss" which would be total BS.

5.I don't think he will win. To stationary, work rate not high enough... to contend with Pac anyway. Chin will take him deep into the fight. Pac by Dec., possible late KO.

      My thoughts anyway.

1.Clottey's welterweight ranking will def go up!!Probably be ranked 2nd behind Sugar Shane!!

2.Fighting Pacman at this point has gotta be great for any fighters starpower!!

3.Clottey should be thinking big if he wins & fight the winner of Berto-Mosley for the undisputed title!!

4.It would take some steam but floyd & Manny are bigger stars,so the fight could still be made!!Not as big as before though!!

5.Clottey has a good chance of beating any welterweight elite!!Put it this way,If Clottey threw 300 more punches a fight,he might have still been undefeated!!Baldomir got a gift dq against him!!
