    Pacquiao-Clottey & Mayweather-Cotto

After this disaster of a negotiation, I believe boxing fans deserve an event that can make up for this mockery of the sport. And in this particular economic climate, boxing fans deserve a PPV event worth our hard-earned cash.

In order to pit Pac & Mayweather against each other in a way that they don't get into the ring to face each other, a 'primer' event could be put together leading up to a MEGAFIGHT between the two later in the year (possibly in Dec). An event that could be proposed could be a two-fight main event attraction in March or May:

Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao vs. Joshua "Grandmaster" Clottey

Floyd "Money" Mayweather vs. Miguel Angel Cotto

Both fights are "dangerous" for Pac & PBF, but not to the extent that they couldn't recover for a fight in Dec to end the year, assuming both win. If either suffer a loss, then all hell will break loose again, so the event could backfire, BUT fans are treated to a night of WARS!

Now the only pitfall that could possibly occur is that possibly BOTH parties of Pac & PBF may not agree on who will be the main event attraction. Petty type S**T!

IMO, Cotto needs a year off to heal his wounds mentally and physically. That Manny v Clottery is a good match up, in terms of power and speed.

PBF should just fight the winner of Mosley and Berto. No more cherry picking, yeah we know, if it dont make money, it dont make sense however, fighting Mosley or Berto would cement you place as one of the boxing greats (win or lose). No more money BS, you made you money, now it's time to chase that legacy.

I doubt Cotto will fight Mayweather.

Not much in it for Mayweather. People will say he's Pac and Marg's leftovers even if he wins.

Maybe after a couple more fights when Cotto regains his confidence.

Cotto is a Top rank fighter. That fight isn't going to be made. Similar to how a Mosley vs Pac fight won't happen while Shane is signed to GB.

I would rather see Pac vs Bradley and Mayweather vs Mosley.

Why do people keep bringing up a cotto fight? that would be trash right now .... and he just coming off a devastating loss. Pac or Mosley/Berto winner.

In all honesty, why a Cotto fight would be "feasible" at this point is the sad fact that Cotto, in PBF's eyes (and a majority of boxing analysts, purists, etc.) is "damaged goods" after Margarito committed boxing's MORTAL SIN of using loaded gloves and Pac's 11 and 1/2 rounds of demolition.

I did not factor in the death of Cotto's father (RIP).... BUT of all the TRUE WELTERWEIGHTs, PBF would only be willing to step in the ring with Cotto... He wants nothing to do with Mosley, at this moment, so pending the Berto result... I find it a disrespect to the sport of boxing that a fighter makes claims of being the best P4P in the sport when he hasn't fought a single fighter in his weight class...But I digress....

Cotto is in no condition mentally or physically to fight Floyd that fast... He probably needs some time away from the sport and to come back against a lesser more winnable fight.... I still think Pacquiao/Mayweather will happen... someone's gonna cave in soon enough just watch

                    @firstborn

I 100% totally agree with your suggestion of Pac-Bradley & Mosley-Mayweather...But the reason I didn't think of the feasibility of these fights are the simple fact that PBF wants to avoid Mosley like the plague & I would rather see Pac fight a true welterweight than a Jr. Welterweight in Tim Bradley moving up in weight to fight Pac.

BUT as I mentioned earlier, and THE STONE ROSES has pointed out, Cotto's father has passed away (RIP), so I don't see this ever being feasible at the moment.
