All this mayweather/pacquaio mess could me somewhat cleared up if the sanctioning bodies got in on the act.
I think we would all agree that anything which added to the safety and credibility of the sport is a good thing. I dont think it helps anyone to have juiced fighters, or even the su****ion of juiced fighters in the ranks.
In a sport where someone can be killed in the ring, i think its important that the sport applies the most stringent guidelines to protect the fighters which take part. In a sport which has been professional far longer than most, it seems a good step to make olympic level drug testing a requirement for at the very least, all future title fights.
Im interested to hear any reasons people have for not wanting this type of testing. If the rules about testing were across the board and enforced by the sanctioning bodies there would be no offense taken by fighters told to take the tests. Im not making any refernces to the recent shambles between pac and money but it seems that going forward, this is something that the sport as a whole needs to think about. I was actually surpired when this all started that there wasn't already a requirement for this type of testing.
