HBO and Golden Boy to Blame over Mayweather's Antics

HBO and Golden Boy to Blame over Mayweather's Antics

You create a monster then can't control it... who's really to blame, the monster or the inventor?

Floyd Mayweather Jr. would be nothing in terms of a revenue generating "entertainer" without the consistent catering of HBO and Golden Boy Promotions. They fawned over the man incessantly when he announced that he would make his return during the press conference to announce the Juan Manuel Marquez bout on the eve of Hatton-Pacquiao.

It was truly a disgusting site to behold as it was more than evident that the "Pretty Boy" was making his ring return for no other reason than purely financial gain.

With so many fighters out there with similar if not more star potential, the powers that be pushed all their chips in on a man that is less than willing to lace them up against the best that the sport has to offer.

(Click here for a great trailer video done by Gorilla Productions leading up to the Pacquiao-Mayweather bout that might take place eventually.)

Three 24/7 series later and an entire career distributed by the "Heart and Soul of Boxing" and yes, Mayweather is a somewhat known household commodity. However, if HBO and Golden Boy had any balls, they'd let Mayweather's next fight go the "independent" route. If they truly wanted to showcase who was the star and who was the perpetrator, they'd turn the cold shoulder to the Las Vegas resident and allow his inflated self-worth to generate the press for his next mismatch, promote his own fight, distribute it on television, and receive the paltry revenue he'd generate from doing so.

It'd truly showcase who was the major driving force behind the sport of boxing.

As it sits right now, Floyd Mayweather Jr. believes that he is the heart that pumps blood into the veins of our favorite sport.

This coming from a guy who can't sell a live gate worth two ****s.

This coming from a guy who has never been in a "Fight of the Year" or "Fight of the Year candidate" to say the least.

I don't blame Floyd for his amusing antics child-like behavior. I blame HBO and Golden Boy Promotions for allowing themselves to be dictated to as parents by the child.

It reminds me of watching two inept parents terrified at their toddler whenever they throw a tantrum leading them to cater to every move the child makes. Those types of parents sicken me as it is they who will eventually lead to the downfall of society.

Would anyone expect anything less from mommy (Golden Boy Promotions) and daddy (HBO)?

In any case, let Mayweather fight Matthew Hatton. It'd be an amusing freakshow.

Let Pacquiao out-manuever the brat by fighting Yuri Foreman and follow it up with a fight against Paul "The Punisher" Williams and then promptly retiring leaving Floyd, HBO, and Garbage Promotions with **** in their underwear.

PS. As for the blood tests... Team Pacquiao should have agreed to this as I feel as though it would have benefitted them over Floyd in various ways. Going into that first Morales fight, Pacquiao needed to cut a decent amount of weight leading up to fight time. Of course taking even a small amount of blood would weaken a fighter in an already weakened state. However, at the welterweight limit, Pacquiao doesn't struggle at all to make the 147 pound limit. What Team Pacquiao should have done is agree to whatever random blood tests could be done leading up to the fight and come in as hydrated and as heavy as possible leading up to the weigh-in. This would alleviate the problem of draining blood from an already weight-drained individual. Pacquiao could have come in at 147 on the dot the day before and on fight night weigh around 149.

If Mayweather truly has some struggles to make the 147 pound limit as some state, the same blood test that Manny took would have affected Floyd more than himself. Anyhow, it's too late now and who gives a ****
