your right bro i'm glad you mentioned that nobody knows for sure if antonio margarito cheated against miguel cotto and i hate all the crying about the hand wrap bull crap but what makes me is forget shane mosley and all these millionaire fighters what about the boxers that dont get noticed or the one people consider tomato cans or bums..they are at risk too ? and i personally dont think margarito cheated against miguel cotto..i mean does anyone have proof besides running their mouths ? did the steroids shane mosley took make him punch harder against oscar delahoya in the rematch ? and oh yeah i was rooting hard for sugar shane mosley to knock out the golden boy in their rematch years ago so no i aint biased against anybody because of color or different languages or what not..but i dont think that anybody should try and stop antonio margarito from coming back to fight..lets see if he can redeem himself becuase thats what i'm looking forward too finding out if the tijuana tornado still has the fire in his belly to win against the best 147 out there..i mean if he cheated over and over i see what you mean but does anyone have proof ? are they so called boxing officials paying attention when the fighters get their hands wrapped or what ? i dont think he cheated at all against the great miguel cottoComment

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roy_Jones,_Jr.Mosley is still boxing. Roy Jones is still boxing. Toney is still boxing. Klitchko is still boxing. Why most of them get away with it after admitting or/and test postive?? If those cheaters can still do it, Margs deserves redemption as well. Before you go with loaded gloves ****.....even if he would of used them against Mosley or even brought a baseball bat to the fight. There is no way he could of beaten Mosley that night.
exerpt:
A post-fight drug test showed Jones and Hall both tested positive for androstenedione,[3] which is a banned substance by the IBF. Androstenedione is a natural steroid hormone that was commonly available over the counter as a supplement until 2004 when the DEA made the over the counter sale of androstenedione illegal. Jones admitted to taking the product "ripped fuel" which was sold at GNC and other nutritional supplement outlets.[4] Jones was able to keep his titles and was not fined or suspended for the positive test by the IBF. The Commissioner of Indiana Boxing, Jacob Hall stated that Indiana did not have a law on drug testing and that an agreement was made with Jones to send his next two pre-fight drug tests to the Indiana commission. Both of those tests came back negative.[5] Jones has not tested positive for illegal substances on any other occasion.

He tested positive for steroids, but nothing illegal. Though he should have been more responsible, this is not as egregious as doing steroids. The difference is that I believe that RJJ did not KNOWLINGLY take any banned substances. He did not WILLINGLY look away hoping to plead innocent. I believe he honestly did not know. I also believe that Jacob Hall is exacerbating things by suggesting that Jones took the product FOR the steroid. RJJ admitted to taking Ripped Fuel and the onus is on the boxer to remain clean, but there is a PROFOUND difference between taking a legal product and not knowing there is something in it that is controlled by a boxing commission and deliberately attempting to cheat.
I would like to point out that I am a powerlifter. I am not particularly successful, but that is not my point. I have been to meets where more than ONE (1) cup of coffee could provide a bannable level of caffeine within the system! All winners are tested.
Remember that RJJ has not tested positive before or since.Comment

For healing an injury, I believe. Steroids are commonly prescribed by doctors for tissue repair and help with mononucleosis and other diseases.
I believe Vitali may have had that for his torn rotator cuff.Comment

Margarito should be charged with "tampering with a professional sporting event" and sentenced to criminal charges, just like Luis Resto and Panama Lewis were. Tony is a cheater, and got exposed when SSM Knocked him the FO. He shouldn't be allowed to ever fight again or be within 500 feet of any boxing gym or boxing event!!!!!Comment

Yes. I think he should be reinstated. A cheat is a cheat. I don't care how you cheated. If Margarito shouldn't be allowed to fight, neither should Mosley or RJJ.Comment
-
nope. IMO this is worse than steroids. Like Larry Merchant said, its almost like attempted murder.
Kick him out of boxing forever!!!

He was suspended for a year. After he has served his time, he has served his time, he should be allowed to make a living at his given occupation. He will be closely watched and have alot to prove. Let him do it.Comment

No way. There are some actions that warrant life time bans. Remember when marty mcsorley went upside that guys head with his hockey stick during the game? He got a lifetime ban and rightfully so, margarito loading his wraps is just as egregious an offence and he deserves a lifetime ban as well.Comment

I think if you serve your sentence then you are even with the house. If they really wanted him banned for life then they should of done it right there and then.Comment
