the only time we will see khan in there with a puncher is if either:

    a) the fighter has a punch but he is a shot fighter (ala hatton)

    or...

    b) if the fighter is a live puncher he will be asked to move up in weight (ala katsidis)

imo this is no surprise from team khan, i can see khan not getting in the ring with any live fighter with a punch. so don't expect to see urango or maidana in the ring with khan.

i think its more than likely we see khan take on fighters who might be shot like hatton, judah and jmm. maybe we will see him take on fighters like malginaggi or juan diaz who we know don't have a big punch. personally i think a fight with ortiz is likely, khan has beat ortiz once already and might have his number, also the fight with maidana showed that ortiz doesn't have the heart that khan does.

Why am i not surprised at this thread. If he isn't ready now he never will be, his chin ain't gonna gain muscle at any point through his career. IMO Urango beats him too. Hatton is about a foot smaller than Khan so thats the one he'll go for.

And they think that was Barrera in the ring that night.... That guy was a shell of the shell of Barrera, who by the way is naturally a super bantamweight. Brave Khan!!

Khan won the belt by a unanimous points decision over Andreas Kotelnik last year and defended it in December with a devastating first round knockout of Dmitriy Salita.

The World Boxing Association are now forcing Khan to put the title on the line against hard-hitting Argentinean Maidana, but Roach feels pitting Khan against the man who has knocked out 26 opponents in 27 victories may be a step too far for the Bolton boxer.

“It's a business and it's about the right fights at the right time. There are some good fights out there for Amir,” Roach told The Sun.

"He can outbox Maidana but he's tough, a good puncher and you don't want to exchange with him too much."

I don't see him taking an Ortiz level fighter for some time. I think the plan is to feed him some Oisin ***an type heroes in the States to build his exposure . We are going to see a continuation of the UK career in the States. Only I HOPE the US fight fans don't buy into it which will force him to step up or run back to fight more bums in the UK. He has a gullible paying public that seem content for him to fight bums. He is a business not a fighter and low risk high return is always going to win out over high risk slightly higher return. If he can fight 3 bums and get the same money as one tough fight ,Team Khan are going to go for the easy fights. He is young, they can keep that bull**** going and don't want it to end. He has too many people wrapped around him earning money through him for him to break out and take risks.

IM a big fan of Khan but this is typical Roach..

He did it with Pac too..

135: Should have fought Diaz or Cambell
                    147: Mosley
                    154: Martinez

He is just taking out the weakest belt holders atm, why not test yourself?
