    Magic man and money

So it’s looking like Mayweather vs Malignaggi now.

I actually quite like this fight, i don’t imagine for a moment that Paulie can win, but i think he’ll do ok, and there’s no way Floyd will KO him.

Both are real slicksters, and Paulie is in arguably the best form of his career at the moment, he embarrassed Juan Diaz last month, and was robbed in Texas last Aug in their first fight (worst decision of 2009?)

Floyd will win tho. Paulie is every bit as fast, arguably quicker in fact, but certainly not as accurate, and his brittle hands will always hamper him – far more so than Floyd, who can still **** when he wants to.

The Paulie Malignaggi we saw against Hatton was a shell IMO, he’s a much better boxer than Hatton, I don’t think being trained by Buddy McGirt suited him at all, much like Floyd Snr with Hatton. Since hooking up with Sherif Younan he’s improved tremendously.

This fight will no doubt be seen as the ‘booby’ prize for boxing fans, and indeed i guess it is, we all wanted Manny and Floyd to fight. However, that’s not going to happen – least for now – so in the mean time i see this as being a great match up, competitive even, but the cream will always rise to the top, and therefore if this fight is signed and delivered, i predict a comfortable unanimous decision for Floyd Mayweather.

When did Malignaggi become relevant again? I must have missed a memo.

Regardless, in Mayweather's mind this is a fight that helps cement his legacy. Unfortunately, it is not. It will be a technical battle, Mayweather will win a UD, and no one will care.

If this is PPV I can't see it doing well. 70% of Mayweather's PPV audience is just people who want to see him get knocked out. Paulie is not going to provide that.

You raise a good question; if this fight is delivered, will it be on HBO PPV?

Im from England so will no doubt get it for free, but were I in the States i'm not sure many people would wish to pay for it - and knowing how much Floyd LOVES his PPV tag, can it be screened any other way?!

I'd rather watch Mosely vs Mayweather...

...but for sheer entertainment of two "flashy" fighters, it would be interesting to think of; however, I don't know if it will make for an exciting fight. SOmeone would have to be the aggressor...I'd think Floyd would be...

Is Malignaggi going up in weight to fight Floyd?

This fight makes sense because Paulie is looking for his golden parachute and Mayweather is looking to pick up another cherry. In the meantime fighters like Joshua Clottey are being ducked because they bring nothing to the table but pain and punishment.

If Floyd didn't make 144 for Marquez what makes you think, he makes it for Malinaggi.
