Arum: "Mayweather never wanted the fight"

Moments ago Manny Pacquiao promoter Bob Arum informed **********.com that the last ditch effort to save the March 13 mega-fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr has failed. "Richard Schaefer and Al Haymon tried to get the Pretty Boy to make the deal, but he didn't want to and I'm not surprised. Floyd Mayweather never wanted to fight Manny Pacquiao my friend," said Arum who added that "scientists were brought in to explain to Mayweather how protected he was" but Mayweather refused to allow Pacquiao's final test before the fight to take place 24 days before the fight. Pacquiao's defamation suit against the Mayweather's and Golden Boy will move forward, as will the Top Rank-Golden Boy arbitration that will determine whether or not Golden Boy should still be allowed an interest in Manny Pacquiao.

Yeah what pac did was dumb. However, it doesn't have anything to do with what's happening now.

*edit, now i realize why you mentioned that. It is funny when someone has the gall to call someone ****** yet his declaration reeks of ******ity. Anyways i'll take off the sig if it bothers you that much.

During this whole ordeal, I've been very critical of Manny because of his refusal to take a random blood test. If he truly wanted the fight as much as his fans think, he would have done so. But, if medical experts were really brought in and presented evidence to Mayweather that a 24 day cutoff was reasonable and he still refused the fight? Than he really is looking for a way out of the fight and deserves to be called a coward by Arum. Too bad he's more afraid of losing his zero than fighting real fighters.

Pac shares blame too, but wow, this makes boxing look bad.

                  floyd fairweather

I'm not a Arum fan at all! but floyd has proven him right.Floyd has not got that same Duran, leonard,Hagler,Hearns and many more attitude to fight any one and it's such a shame he can never be mentioned in this same league. He calls himself "money Mayweather" and is likable but appox. £25million in the pot and he's says NO with Pac prepared to move on this silly test date b/s then it's clear he doesn't fancy the job.
What's even more disappointing is it's like folk are asking him to give weight as it's Pac who is the smaller man but Floyd makes it sound like he's being asked to fight a super middle...sorry floyd your mental state doesn't match your ability and in boxing's elite this doesn't work.
