Hatton was not a star in the US. Floyd came out of retirement because he called him out. Then he retired again and after talking about the Oscar rematch, he retired again after not being happy with the money.

Money is what he wants, can't argue with that but don't expect to call yourself the number 1 ATG when you don't face the top of the class at welterweight, which at the time was Cotto, Marg and now Mosley.

Hatton was bigger then Cotto or Margaritto in the US and the fight did huge in the Uk too. But yeah Money is what he wants, hence why he came out of retirement again.. you think he came out of retirement to face Sugar Shane Mosley for nowhere near as much as he got from Hatton/Oscar?

I don't believe Hatton was bigger in the US than Cotto.

Cotto did well in NY and Hatton only fought in the US a few times.

Hatton never even had a PPV there.

It did do well in the UK but Mayweather never got a penny of the PPV... so that shows that Mayweather didn't think of it too much.
