it's ironic, you have supporters of random blood testing being able to cite these references from respected experts in the field like Dr. Catlin, and then you have these 'i don't know **** about boxing or science or medicine in general' fans like Lady Fan who come up with statements from some unknown doctor Sahi (I wouldn't be surprised if he's from the philippines) and citations from websites that try to sell you anabolic steroids. lol.
EPO can be detected through urine tests.
EPO takes about a month to take full effect (1 dose a week)
one injection of EPO is useless
as far as the NSAC being useless, the NSAC uses the WADA's list of prohibited substances for their drug screening and tests for all of the same things.
He didnt say one take off epo would help you..he just made the point that EPO can be out ur system VERY quickly......
Dr. Catlin sees the current Nevada State Athletic Commission drug testing protocol as inefficient and not up to date in terms of detection.
But he’s not a critic of the Nevada boxing board, in fact, he would be willing to work with the NSAC to strengthen its testing protocol.
“We’re getting better at this but did you know that, in the last 30 years, nobody has been caught using HGH because there is not a good enough test as of yet. You can stop using HGH for one day, just one day, and you can be clean in any test. They can use EPO one day and then it can be gone by noontime the next day. All the drugs are different, all have different windows (for detection). All we can do is to keep upping the ante, making the tests more random and stronger.

so stop winning until this is the official process in testing boxers and tell floyd to sign the fight and stick with nsac testing for now!!

they just admited that there is no test good enough to catch anyone using HGH... so why is the Olympic style testing any better than the one given by Pro-baseball and pro-football?
also, this is an interview given by a Olympic testing "guru", of course they'd say that their testing is the best.
if you take one dose, but you need to take multiple doses over a span of time to get full effect.
more doses= stays in your system longer than a day.
they can actually find EPO in your urine 3 days after an injection. with random urine tests, why would anyone chance it?
NSAC sees the WADA list for detecting PEDs. how is it not adequate? cuz blood testing isnt mandatory??
the ONLY advantage blood testing has over urine testing is the detection of HGH. yet, the actual blood test for HGH is flawed which is represented by the non-existent detection rate.
