You say Manny's giving a large portion of his savings away so he is beyond corruption, I can't argue with you about the politics in the Phillipines because I don't know enough about it.
I'd like to hear what others have to say about it.
how is this related to boxing?

Since the start of his boxing career, it is common tradition that the President of the country presents him with an award of some sort after a big fight which promotes a country. Awards were presented to him by Estrada, then PGMA, but he was somehow linked to PGMA because she held two terms of Office.

But since having the knowledge of accusations of corruption, Manny Pacquiao somehow distanced himself from PGMA and her Party, and actually now runs under the Party of Manny Villar, whom you saw at the ending of the HBO 24/7 1st episode Pac-Cotto.

Freddie Roach actually butted in when Pac was discussing political plans with a former poor man, and now multi-billionaire and top 10 richest man in the country. All Pac could do was, what you call, 'roll over his eyes'.

Manny might be victorious in politics, but he will be a poor statesman. I have read an article somewhere a few weeks ago that states him allocating half a billion pesos for his run (and his up and coming cronies). He has already gone to bed with these corrupt politicians for the last couple of years. He has identified himself with them and has befriended them to the bone. He has tasted their friendship and affections and has swallowed the bitter pill just to be one among them. This move has galvanized his relationships with them and is impossible to sever . Surely as time will tarry, these same politicians will knock on Manny’s door for whatever things they need relative to their vested interests and Manny will not refuse because Manny cannot refuse, because Manny is a people pleaser. He loves to please people and never offend. He cannot turn down anybody who asks any favor from him. He loves to be liked. But the very positive trait he posses will be the very trait that will bind him between the enduring values of life and the corrupt wanting of his political associates making him ineffective statesman.
Given the fact that Manny do have the heart to help people and the money to do so, the opposite scenario would have been to stay out of politics (after all, one can still help people outside of politics and be more effective given the money one has). Setup a foundation (which he did) and pour out whatever money he can give to that foundation. Start helping the masses help themselves by assisting them with whatever business they may want to venture. Hire as many accountants to oversee the undertaking, making sure that they the people who have been help will succeed. Half a billion pesos into politics and gone after the election is ill adviced and an activity of poor judgment. He could have done so much already with that money for real people and real lives to begin with. He would have succeeded beyond measure far greater than in the world of politics.
Manny’s traits and personality is not suited for politics. He could not even put in order his own boxing camp while training for the Cotto fight. While his trainer and conditioning guru are fighting with his right hand man Koncz, he did nothing for a sustained period of time. What would make us think that he can put in order a bigger and more complex problem of society? The shear inability to do nothing when his own ship was in a mess should be a red flag. He cannot reign in Freddy and Alex and he cannot fire Koncz because he is beholden to all of them. Now multiply that scene with the entire political landscape. How in world can he satisfy all and at the same time turn down a few? He will be spending and spending to win and retain his political position (and even strive to go higher) and his initial desire to help people will have been set aside as secondary to all things in politics. Lastly, because of his unique personality as stated above, he will have serve and pleased all his colleagues well by looking at corruption and turning the other way, rise to his intended political position, and realize when it is all said and done that the only substantial people he has helped are the corrupt politicians and has become one of them.
I hope I could be proven wrong, I desire to be proven wrong and I would like to see myself wrong over this point, because after all I want to see him succeed in life after boxing. However right now, I cannot envision a scenario other than what I wrote.

        I found this here

You posted this, of all places, in NSB? Boxing. Let's talk boxing. There is no difference with you talking about Pacquaio in politics as with someone talking about Pacquaio and his women. Let's just talk boxing.

And personally, I dont give a rat's ass on Pacquiao's political plans, singing or acting dreams, or his women.... though his women are something else!!!!!
