      I'd love a Maidana fight.

Paulie would be the moest difficult fight for him at 140. Amir has never faced someone as slick and fast as Paulie. I would rather want him to fight Maidana next.

Malinaggi is the sensible fight at this point and would give khan a good work out with little chance of getting KOd but Marcos Maidana is mandatory and if he pulls out he will no longer be champion. I think the odds are he will pull out,the new promotion company will most likely want to get him some less risky softer fights to get more exposure in the States then step him up in a year or two.

It's a good time for Khan to break away from Warren. Warren is good for establishing the foundations of boxers' pro careers and navigating them through British, Commonwealth and European level...but if a boxer wishes to truly fulfill their potential, they need to go their own way or end up stuck with a dime-a-dozen alphabet title and mandatory defences against opponents that are not universally ranked as top 15 contenders.

Other than Kotelnik who is really a solid journeyman and an old small and head butted Barrera which of the fighters he has fought are not bums?

                    He should fight Maidana.

                    He is better than Maidana.

I don't necessarily see why he should be steered clear of punchers, most punchers are one-dimensional.

Style-wise, aggressive come-forward fighters should be Amir Khan's meat and drink, where he can pick them off with his fast-hands coming in.

Even his chinnyness might work out for him. These puncher types will try and take him out with one shot.

Amir will look spectacular against aggressive fighters if they aren't really polished.

Khan vs Maidana - isn't the hardest fight for Khan. Khan could get caught and stopped by fighters with a half of Maidana's power but twice his boxing skill.

Malignaggi is the safe fight in terms of probability of getting taken out. All the others, they could all take Khan out IF they landed right.

I agree with you 100% . I can see Khan outboxing Maidana but I suspect the new promoters will be fearful of a Prescott type fiasco. Malignaggi is a tougher fight in many ways as he is a far better boxer than Maidana but there is little chance of Khan being KOd. I think we could be in for a run of bums though before we get to a Malignaggi to build up US media exposure.
