Should boxing implement a stricter AIDS test?

im not gonna give names, but there are rumors spreading about that some boxers may have contacted the AIDS....

the NSAC only does STD tests once a year, which is completely useless.

i am only concerned for the safety of the fighters, and i believe that stricter AIDS testing should be implemented

In the fight of this magnitude (manny vs aids-floyd), it is definitely boxing's responsibility to subject each fighter to sportsmanship at the highest level.

This isnt stemming from Floyd's rumors of having aids, this is simply to clean up the sport of boxing.

I agree. Floyd would be an excellent spokesman for AIDS awareness though....

Well, increased testing may not be effective, due to the HIV virus possibly being dormant and undetectable for 6 months or more.

How long was yours dormant before it was detected? And how long after you tested HIV positive did you actually develop full-blown AIDS?

im not gonna claim to be an AIDS expert, nor i have proof that floyd has AIDS.

my only concern is that fighters maybe fighting with HIV. i believe stricter testing should be applied. the current testing is outdated. not to mention fighters maybe using some sort of masking agent to hide their AIDS.

Tommy Morrison has made allegations in the past-two other boxers tested positive for HIV but their results were never made public. link here

AIDS is too serious to not take seriously.

It would tarnish the sport, particularly if something happened concerning it in a super-fight like Manny v May (not that I'm saying either of them have it).

It makes sense for tougher testing on all types of STIs. If Floyd and other boxers have nothing to hide, they shouldn't mind it.
