What happened to the old fashion way

Why dont fighters clean up their divison any more, beat everyone whose holding a title in their weight class...

now we got fighters moving up and down winning a title here and there but beating fighters who arent even the top dog in their weight class

If Pacquiao fights foreman at 154, that would be a prime example.

most fighters want to maximize profits without taking the hardest challenges which makes buisness sense but isnt what the fans want to see. personally i dont blame the fighters for having this approach when if you lose one fight the average fan calls you a bum hype job overrated ect.

it's not the fighters perse, it's more of the managers, advisors, promoters, and handlers. remember, most fighters are only focused on fighting and training, that is why they have a TEAM around them who make decisions or at least present decisions to be made, and all those decisions are made on the bottom line, which is money and winable fights, you can prioritize which decision was more important by looking at the fight and the elements involved..................

lawyers, advisors, trainers, promoters, etc, want top dollar for their fighter because that means top dollar for them in that particular situation...........

thats why, when you look at fighters back in the day, there were less people in and around their affairs, i'm talking about on a broader scale of the sport, at the top levels where the money was/is there have always been the vultures around fighters, but now, it's more of an industry standard...... guys used to clean out divisions and used to fight up the ranks, legitimatlly (as mugh as it could be legit), but now, with all the catchweights and moving up and down, guys are looked at as cherry picking and fighting smaller guys........ which is total bullmess, but whatever, it's been proven over and over and over again, that it's harder to hold down one weight division your whole career than it is to move up.

moving up to me means, you've been fighting at a weight that you weren't supposed to fight at because you were dropping 30+ pounds, OR the fighter is growing up and naturally fighting where they need to be because they're getting bigger and gaining weight due to father time...............

most guys are way bigger dudes fighting at weights that give them huge advantages by dropping down, which is why they stop having the weigh in on the same day of the fight, which has aided in weight fiascos, if they had the weigh in on the same day, a lot of guys would fight at a weight class higher weight classes because they wouldn't risk drying out and getting ko'd in the fight.
holding up at one weight class for your career means you're fighting real near your walking around weight, no more then 10+Lbs....... when you fight against time to maintain that certain weight, it's easier to move up........
