Defiantly. I'm game for any guy to cross over to the other respected sport. Both are great to watch in different ways. Both sports should respect the other.

I'm glad Dana White isn't being a punk about it. In a business aspect of it he's dealing with his competition here and knowing him I wouldn't think he would give in so easily. Like him or not, I'm glad Dana actually let Kimbo in the UFC.

Anyway, if the match is made smartly (I have no doubts from Dana) i could be a good event. Especially if Kimbo is involved. He has his on following of fans/haters, match that name with big James Toney and man... talking about big numbers involved. I hope it happens. Dont know who the hell I would pick cause I like both.

I think Liddell and him would be pretty damn explosive. I think I would rather see that.

Yeah, I am a fan of both too and don't see why fans of one hate the other. Fights in general are fun to watch. They should but him in with someone at 1st with limited grappling because they can make big paydays later when James gets some more experience and refines some sort of ground game after a few wins.
It would be interesting to see if Toney's iron chin stands up to Liddell's bombs or if Toney just schools him.
Props to Toney especially at his age for pursuing this, takes some balls.

That's the only problem I se in al this. Dana is a stickler about weight issues. Only time he's laid back about it is when their is a non-title fight between two weight divisions. If one of the guys tries but can't make the designated weight, he cuts them some slack because they tried.

Don't see Toney adhering to a strict nutrition regimen.

Toney's defense in standup was the shoulder roll which would be completely ineffective in MMA and would leave him open for a take down. The guy is not athletic anymore.

Furthermore, wouldn't it be kinda sad if he got into awesome shape for an MMA fight and not a boxing fight?

If it wasn't already clear, he wants a payday. There's a reason why you see guys like Mayorga and Toney are looking into MMA - it's because they can't get big fights in boxing anymore and the idea of an ex-boxing champ fighting an MMA fighting is intriguing and will sell.

I'd love to see him spark one of those guys, though.
