Maidana is an overrated hype job, he would get absoloutley massacred by Khan, he wont be able to hit khan, and he blocks punches with his suspect chin, Khan would batter and beat Maidana, dropping him again, again, and again, cutting him up, scrambling his braincells, until the referee calls for the stretcher after about 5 rounds.
perfect time for khan to vacate the title...

Malignaggi's got an iron chin, though. He would beat Maidana simply by outboxing him, unless he gets ****** and decides to trade... which isn't a good idea, considering his own KO record. :laff2:
Ortiz, however, had a bad night. It can happen to everyone. The lad will be back, as long as his heart is in the right place (boxing-wise).
Bradley would be the next best thing (probably even better, since he's undefeated and is regarded as the truth at 140), but Ortiz and the others you've mentioned are a no-no. Khan would look like an idiot if he faced them instead of Maidana. This is the time to prove himself, not face second-tier losers.
That's too far away. He needs to fight soon, rather than wait around for unification winners. Besides, the WBA has a set timeframe in which he must make his defence. This is basically the same as Marquez-Katsidis, except that Marquez doesn't really need the belt he's currently holding.Comment

and that is what is wrong with boxing today. fighters who in the overall picture have done nothing, but feel they are entitled to everything. true fans of the sport pay their money to see the best fight the best. not to see their favorite fighter in a showcase fight.Comment

paulie, campbell, bradley, alexander... these are the guys khan should face.Comment

Goodness knows a certain pair of fellas named Jones Jr. and Hopkins steamrolled through their mandatories, and people were generally all smiles...
Against Maidana, he has an opportunity to answer all those questions about his chin - with Bradley, he can potentially grab himself another belt and vanquish the best (and undefeated) fighter in the division.
It's all true what they about Ortiz. But I still refuse to **** on a young fighter for just one mistake, no matter how big it was. I have a more positive outlook that way - people would be well served to take a tip.Comment
