Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao fight surges back to life

    BREAKING NEWS
Quick, somebody call the morgue right away.

We’ve got to postpone that autopsy on Floyd Mayweather Jr. versus Manny Pacquiao, a fight in which each combatant may gross $40 million dollars.

It looks like Mayweather is ready to give some to get plenty.

The post mortems must be delayed if not canceled because the patient is wiggling his toes, fingers and the vital signs are flashing yellow if not green.

As I’ve said all along, this fight may still happen on March 13 and let me tell you why.

First and foremost, because I believe that, if Pacman gets a public apology as to drug cheating accusations by Mayweather’s connections, he will drop his just filed Las Vegas defamation lawsuit.

Second, and maybe I should have ranked this first, Bob Arum has revealed to Examiner.com and to ****************** that he is more than willing to sit down with Golden Boy’s Richard Schaefer and the attorneys for both sides in Los Angeles on any day next week.
    Retired Federal Judge Daniel Weinstein
Third, Coach Freddie Roach has said publicly that his prized pupil will jet to Los Angeles from Manila next week to begin light training at Roach’s Wild Card Gym.
Fourth, Arum is not waxing as enthusiastic as he was before about a March 20 Pacman-Yuri Foreman WBA junior middleweight title bout as a substitute for the richest bout in history.

Arum, it turns out, is more than amenable to sitting before Judge Weinstein, who handled the mediation between his Top Rank and Oscar de la Hoya’s company back when they both held contracts on Pacquiao a few years ago.
I spoke to Arum as he prepared to board a flight from Cabo San Lucas, where he enjoyed a working vacation, to Las Vegas.

Arum said that “something could be bubbling,” that there is a thaw in the icy relationship between the negotiating parties which was primarily due to Mayweather’s firm demand for random blood and urine testing before the bout with a mutually agreed to prefight cutoff date.
“Our first priority, before any fight with anybody, is to clear Manny’s name. Would that be through an apology? I don’t want to get into that right now.
“I will say that, if they want to meet in front of Judge Weinstein on Monday, Tuesday or any day, then we are willing to listen,” Arum said. “If some mediation occurs, and I don’t know if it will, then we would have to listen to that.”
Arum said that “rumblings” about mediation were communicated to him by Team Pacquiao lawyer Daniel Petrocelli.
The veteran promoter said he still plans to speak to Foreman manager Murray Wilson as a contingency plan for Manny’s next bout.
According to Arum, all the talking between the sides is being funneled through Petrocelli and de la Hoya’s lawyers at the office of Hollywood legal legend Bert Fields.
There is no continuing conversation between TR president Todd duBoef and GBP’s Bruce Binkow due to the pending litigation.
Arum said that Pacquiao continues to be rankled over the drug cheater allegations and, in particular, the Dec. 25 New York Daily News column in which a Mayweather connection alleged that Manny’s side asked if a dirty drug test result for Pacquiao could be hushed up.
"That is silly,” Arum said. “Untrue and just silly. Then why have any drug tests? Where’s the proof, what’s the purpose of that? Their side has been taking a beating in the media and rightly so.
“I still think Mayweather is looking for a way out. Why all these demands (as to constant random blood and urine testing) for this fight, for this fighter?”
Arum said he thinks that the Mayweather side is “totally boxed in.”
The promoter said that, no matter what happens or doesn’t happen in any mediation, that the Pinoy Idol will fight somebody on March 13 or 20.

Easy work, easy fight, maybe easier than the Marquez fight...one thing though, can you just take some random blood test? I just want to make sure you're not on steroid.
          Larry Merchant...
We thought Mayweather Jr. was gay, he's much gayer than we thought.
