Even though they all ended up at LHW all three of these guys generally had fight night weigh ins of less than 185. In Roy's case for the Ruiz fight he added on an un-natural amount of bulk to his frame and was later for the Tito fight able to get down to 169lbs proving at least to me that he wasn't that big. Hopkins though a career MW was a big MW, more of a SMW who would do different things which enabled him to suffer down to 160.
Take Lucian Bute and Librado Andrade for example; for their 2nd fight they weighed in at 182 and 185 on FN. very typical for SMWs and generally what Calzaghe, Jones, and Hopkins would weigh in at for LHW fights. My point here I guess is that they succeeded at a weightclass where they were smaller typically than most fighters such as Dawson, Tarver, or Cloud who would come in at 190+ on FN. I think even more credit is owed to these 3 because of this so cong**** to them.
