He claims he want to be champion. Wasn't he a champion several times with alphabet belts? Should someone tell him these belts mean nothing and it's just alphabets? Anyone can make these belts you know?

Also, isn't the reason why he's fighting overseas is because promoters int he U.S. don't want the liability risks involved if something happens to Holyfield, isn't it? Insurance money for hospital is only $10K, and another $10K for his family if he dies, this may vary, but this is the liability insurance/standard rate like a car insurance, etc.

And the U.S. commissions probably do not want him fighting here in case something happens to him, boxing won't get another black eye. Boxing only gets a black eye if it's a big name fighter dies, not the club fighters that die yealy. If a big named fighter dies, Congress steps in, changes rules, and might eventually go into banning the sport, but banning is too harsh.

i think you are talking `Rubbish`... Holyfield and rightly so is of the opinion that he can be Heavyweight champion of the world again.. Holyfield felt he was robbed in his return fight with Lewis in 1999 he then went 3 fights with John Ruiz 1-1-1 winning and losing the heavyweight title, He then `Butchered`former champion Hasim Rahman in a Title eliminator to set up a fight with crafty Chris Byrd for the title.. like many others Byrd made Holyfield "miss and look bad" Holyfield suffered a torn rotator-cuff muscle in both shoulders an injury which can take up to 3yrs to recover from, however Holyfield fought James Toney less than 12 months later and due to those injuries looked a shadow of his former self.. 12 months later he started his return to the ring losing a decision to the runner Larry Donald in his coneback fight, Evander then reeled off 4 decent victories earning a WBO title shot over in Russia losing on points to Ibragimov, he then travelled to Switzerland and lost a hugely unpopular decision to Nikolay Valuev... such was the unpopularity of the decision that Holyfield (and rightly so) has been installed as a top contender by 2 of the four governing bodies... if David Haye can win the heavyweight title by throwing only 5 punches yet Holyfield gets `Robbed`throwing over 150 punches then i agree that he has a great chance at being heavyweight champion in the future... Holyfield will fight a tune-up fight against Frans Botha next month then will face the winner of Haye vs Ruiz... IMO we will see Holyfield vs Ruiz (4) in 2010 with Evander Holyfield becoming the oldest Heavyweight Champion in History.
