Am I the only one that finds this to be ironic?
He try to hide his financial problems from the public to maintain his "money" image, but the primary reason he came back to boxing was for money.
There were not just rumors, but media sources and documents online that showed Floyd was being sued and owed the IRS in unpaid taxes, and had to sell some of his property.
He came on ESPN and said he wasn't in financial trouble and on 24/7 continue to boost his riches.
Then Greg Leon from ********** does an article on him basically speaking the truth on Mayweather's financial troubles.
He said numerous times Pacquiao and Mosley wasn't important. He brought up their prior loses and those being the primary reasons he felt like he didn't need to fight them. He also went on to say that Mosley is not a draw and have never been on the "A" side of things. He labeled himself the "Cash Cow" of boxing and stated he doesn't need to chase anybody.
When the Pacquiao fight started crumbling, Team Mayweather was the one trying to still leave the offer on the table when Team Pacquiao was the one who had enough of their Olympic drug testing and decided to call the fight off.
Now we should give credit to Mayweather's team for trying to keep the deal alive and resolve the issue that can satisfy both parties.
But that's not the point of this thread.
Am I the only one that finds it ironic "Mr. Cash Cow" is all of a sudden in need of a big payday?
Who can Mayweather fight right now besides Pacquiao and Mosley (if he wins against Berto) that can generate the level of interest and money?
Mayweather is in need of money right now to straighten out his financial mess and try to put the lost savings back into his account.
Mayweather can fight the likes of Cotto, Paul Williams, Kermit Cintron, Andre Berto, etc.. but he would have to fight them all and still won't make no where near the amount he would make from the Pacquiao fight.
I know for a fact Mosley would fight him if he beats Berto because Mosley is on his way out and is not in position of power (beat Margarito but couldn't get a fight for a year) and he's also looking for a big money fight.
But how ironic would it be if Mosley beat Andre Berto, then said Mayweather is not important at this point?
How ironic would it be if Pacquiao beat Paulie/Yuri, then said Mayweather is not important at this point?
Then they decide to fight each other and leave Mayweather with no fight (but shane would have to wait til after Manny's campaign is over).
