    Is Evander Holyfield broke?

Just saw the 47 year old Holyfield is taking on the 41 'White Buffalo' Francois Botha for the WBF title in Uganda (of all places).

Why would he fight on at 47, I always considered him a level-headed kind of guy, does he need the money?

Really? He's a legend...but he never struck me as being very bright or one to make wise decisions.

I think both his ego and his need for cash keep him going. Also he thinks Jesus will protect him from brain damage.

I'm not going to defend his mental state...he's not too sharp and he is clearly delusional at this point.

He did head butt, that's a legit criticism, but I think his achievements are such that I don't even need to defend him. They speak for themselves.

His just recently done up his house which is apparently a mansion.

But he owed a lot of money to people. He should sell up and just live in a smaller place and pay less council taxs or whatever you call it in america.

I heard he has like 9 children and pays otu a lot to the kdis especially after his divorce right?

              Lovely house though.

In June 2008 a legal notice was placed by Washington Mutual Bank stating that Holyfield's $10 million, 54,000 square foot, 109 room, 17 bathroom suburban Atlanta estate would be auctioned off on July 1, 2008 due to foreclosure. Adding to his financial problems, Toi Irvin, mother of his 10 year old son, filed suit for non-payment of two months child support (he pays $3,000 per month for this child). A Utah landscaping firm also has gone to court seeking $550,000 in unpaid debt for services
