The real reason why Pacquiao does not want his blood drawn
December 31, 3:52 AMIndianapolis Fight Sports ExaminerDennis "dSource" Guillermo
This video was taken after Manny Pacquiao's first loss to Erik Morales. Unfortunately it's in Tagalog so you might want to have an interpreter beside you to translate the entire interview as I intend to only highlight the main reasons as to why Pacquiao strongly objects to random blood testing near his fights.
First of all, I just got off an interview with RA The Rugged Man and he himself said "I think that people that pay attention to the sport can see right through it (steroids garbage) easily," pertaining to how this whole slimy steroids story has been twisted by Mayweather's team in order to discredit Pacquiao. That complete interview is up now and can be viewed by clicking this link: (RA Interview)
In this video, Pacquiao talked about all the su****ious inconsistencies during the blood drawing that was required for him to do when he fought Erik Morales back in 2005. Pacquiao stated that he was repeatedly ambushed with random blood drawings within 48 hours of his fight against Morales and claimed that he felt dizzy and weak and with weigh-ins coming up, he was also wary of eating anything. He described in detail how his neck and arms went numb and during fight night, how he did not have his full power behind his punches which was also confirmed by Morales. After this incident, Pacquiao was criticized for being "outwitted" and asked why he allowed his team to agree to terms that ultimately contributed to his loss.
Let's be real here. Pacquiao's edge is his strength, punching power and superior conditioning. If you physically weaken him before a fight, you take away what makes him special. Yes, his skill has improved, but it's those fundamental gifts that allow him to execute what he has learned and make him the force that he is.
After the first fight wherein Pacquiao did not floor Morales even once, he sent the Mexican legend to the canvas 5 times en-route to two TKO victories. Now, people will believe what they want to believe, and if you choose to believe the PRESS RELEASE by Golden Boy Promotions and Team Mayweather then that's your prerogative. Fact is, Pacquiao is not afraid of needles regardless of what GBP and Mayweather's camp printed and that he never said so ever. The press release stated that Michael Koncz, Pacquiao's controversial adviser, had made that comment and not Pacquiao himself. Besides, I know this for a fact because my buddy just inked Pacquiao up with new tattoos a month ago.
That video of Pacquiao having blood drawn about weeks before the fight has no bearing either. What Pacquiao objects to is random blood testing within a few days before fight night which the Olympic style drug testing requires. He is willing to give it as soon as the fight is over, how hard is it to comprehend that the man does not want to give away any advantages to his notoriously shrewd opponent. And why would he? For what? I say cut the games, and just fight the way all the other boxers do. If they really want this Olympic style testing, then it should not be just Pacquiao. it should apply to each and every professional boxer in the world. This is absurd and hints prejudice and discrimination. Why would an innocent person allow himself to be bullied by American media and baseless accusations especially when Pacquiao has no history whatsoever of doping.
Truth is, there's two sides of the story. Just make sure you get the facts before you believe either one. The Mayweather camp have nothing but speculation and Pacquiao's camp simply does not want to repeat history when they lost to Morales. Mayweather has pointed out that Morales fight multiple times in the past, and Team Pacquiao fears taht this is another one of their tactics.

Wild Card personnel Shane Langford who works at the Wild Card Gym and see the Filipino train attests to Pacquiao's clean record and made a comment,
"Look at henry armstrongs record on boxrec the weights are almost identical if you match age. And it looks the same in many ways! He was 120 when he was 18 Pacquiao was 119 when he was 18. He was 140 when he was 30....just like Pacquiao. Pay attention to the fact that there was no BALCO in the 30s!"
In my opinion, Pacquiao has been wrongfully thrown under the bus, tried under the court of public opinion for allegations he does not have history of committing. There is no proof not history, but his reputation has been greatly vandalized. With the law suit Pacquiao filed against GBP and Team Mayweather, Pacquiao wants to set the record straight and for the truth to come out and formally tried in the court of justice so the world can truly hear the facts.
If Team Mayweather really wanted to make the fight happen, they would have never came out with such a controversial press release in the middle of the negotiations. If the deal was dead, then it was dead. All the posturing is elementary. I for one called it from the beginning. This fight is not happening on March 13, unless Floyd truly wants it. He after all was the first to act and said he agreed to fight Pacquiao despite rumors coming from his circle that he is training for a probably fight in Europe against Hatton.
As they say, a lie is like a boomerang... you will in the blank.
