I disagree, people act like Vargas is some big power guy because that's how he fought against feather hands De La Hoya.

If you watch the Tito fight he made it in to the late rounds because of his abilites to slip punches.

I think Mayorga vs Vargas would look like Mayorga vs Spinx. Except Vargas hits harder.

I pick Vargas for a unanimous decision.

        he slips pretty good.

and he takes punches pretty good too.

He took tito's shots longer than Mayorga did.

(Granted he didn't ask Tito to hit him), but he shouldn't get extra points just for being ******.

Very interesting match-up. My early pick is Mayorga. This could all be setting up a Mayo-Vargas showdown at the end of the year

I think Mayorga will be able to pull out a KO over Javier, and if he ends up fighting Vargas it would be hard to tell if Vargas would go back to his old brawling ways or his new strictly boxing ways. Either way I think Mayorga would most likely pull out a KO, cause after the Joval fight I cant see Vargas beating too many legit contenders by just boxing. Them he would definitley have to mix a little bit of his old style with his new style, and personally I dont think Mayorga should be even boxing in the middleweight division he should be at welterweight. And I hate the fact that people blow up Titos win over Mayorga, Mayorga was made for Tito in that fight, he ran out of gas so early cause he isnt a middleweight and shouldnt be a middleweight. Im supprised he made it that far in that fight, if it was in welterweight best believe he would have went all 12 rounds if he didnt knock out Tito . He fights for the money, he said it himself if the money was right he would fight a heavyweight . Tito has caught some big breaks over the years whether it was the Oscar robbery or the low blows to Vargas killing his momentum every time he got something going, Tito is a great fighter but he defintley caught some breaks over the years. Damn, I dont know how that turned into a Tito bashing, my bad i got carried away. lol

Nice, MSG, I'll go see it live. If the opponent is any good I hope there will be a slug fest.

Looks like this fight would be on the Rahman-Barrett undercard, making for a believe-it-or-not solid night on HBO for the World Championship Boxing series...

I'll bet Mayorga is not the same fighter he's known as due to the beating he received from Trinidad.
