judah was the lineal champ and the top WW in the world bar none, everyone was pushing for a fight between him and floyd. when baldomir upset judah in NY he became the #1 WW, most ppl considered him an average fighter but he was #1 none the less.

floyd did the right thing and fought both the #1 and #2 WWs, which at the time was judah and baldomir, not margarito. margarito was nothing but a paper champion nobody knew about.

ofcourse we know both judah and baldomir fell of and margarito reached the top of the division, but floyd cant predict the future, he fought the two best guys at the time, then he moved up for a new title in a new weightclass and a huge money fight with DLH.
