Roger Mayweather said it best, " most people who watch boxing don't know **** about boxing. After spending some time talking to fans and reading these post I have to agree with him, 100%. Most think boxing is about two cavemen standing toe to toe punching each other untill someone gives up or gets ko'd. That my friend is not boxing! Boxing does have a few diff styles. Counter punchers,Swarmers/In-fighter,Boxers/Out-fighter, it is possible for a fighter to be put in all of these categories. One fighter that stands out in mind is Mayweather. If your honest about it , theres really no way you can deny that. No matter how you twist and turn it, those are the basic categories all styles fit in. Now some fans love to see bar room brawls in the ring, even i must admit I love to see some of the no thinking rockem sockem robot fights, but those kind of fights are not what attracts me to the sport. I love boxing in its purest form. Whats greater than watching a fighter in the ring with the abilty to inflict punishment on his opponant while avoiding punishment in return. A boxer that can make you miss three four punches in a row ,counter you then spin out of the way. That my friends is what you call skill. I just dont understand some of these so called Pac fans. You say you love the sport but you hate Mayweather. Fighters like Mayweather carries the sport. Hes been a big name for years, and he still performs at the top level. Fighters like F.Vargas,Gatti,carrales,costillio,Cotto,Guzman,Pau l williams, you know that flat footed toe to toe style. They have very short careers at the top level. So there hot today gone tomorrow. Just look at Cotto, hes garbage already, but he sure does have heart lol. What good is he for boxing in the future, his beatings will only get worse each time we see him fight. I'm not hating just stating facts. Boxers like shane,Roy jones, Calzagy,Mayweather,Oscar,Trinadad, Marquez,Berto, Bradley,Dawson, those type guys have long careers. They carry the sport with there Sweet Science styles. Pacquiao is a great fight too, but he also has that toe to toe style. If not for P.E.D.'s his career would be over to. If he decides to face Mayweather and agrees to Olympic testing we will see the true Pacquiao. When the world see Pacman Man handled then KO'd by Mayweather, he will be exposed and some other brawler most likely not of African decent will inherit a boat load of casual,band wagon,Mayweather hater fans. First it was Diego Carrales,then they went to costillo,then Moesly but he declined the fight, then Gatti, then Hatton, then Cotto but his Promoter declined the fight, then Pacman. After Pacman I guess they will be forced to jump on the winner of Berto -Moesly. so sad, that so many want to see the worlds best boxer fall. Give up, its not gonna happen!
