anyway. i was thinking about this fight and how i have gotten worked up because of all this ****** ****, and i started to notice a trend evolving in all of this, which has been discussed before, and it's the build up of the fight, even if they were to fight different people on march 13th. because the way i see it, they're trying to make this fight the biggest in recent years, and all this scandal and back and forth is only going to attract all the other sports fans to watch this fight.

they're trying to make it into a soap opera to reach beyond the regular boxing fan demographic.

i believe that this has been in the works for a while now, because, both sides, and i don't care what we're being told in news and the internet, but both sides aren't really trying to do anything to progress things. WE'RE ONLY BEING TOLD WHAT THEY WANT US TO HEAR!!!!! do you get that fact? they're are talking in private, and are devising plans, all the while they come with these statements for us in the public to fuel their promotion.

i think we as fans have been played.

i think that they're using us to promote the fight and using us to reach out to casual boxing fans and other sports fans with all of this.

it's free marketing and promotion, and the controversy is making it spread like wildfire.

if there were real negotiations going on, at least known negotiations to the public, they would've settled this by now, which i think that they already have terms met and are dragging this out to get more FREE MARKETING AND PROMOTION...........

You know what?I have been thinking the same exact thing!IMHO they are really trying to promote this fight to make it the biggest fight in history!I mean they all see chance to make an insane amount of money!Everyone from the trainers to Arum,GBP, to May and Pac himself.And we all know how much these people love money....I mean it's pretty much everything for them.

They figure, why take a chance of this fight not being a blockbuster hit??!!They probably figure this is like a once in a lifetime thing and they will do whatever it takes to attract not only traditional and hardcore boxing fans but casual fans,non-boxing fans, celebrities,fans of sports in general and even people that just love to see drama!

The only thing that wouldn't make sense if this was the case, is Pacquiao willing to risk his image for money?I mean even if he were to come out clean, there is always going to be some kind of doubt or a cloud over his head.His legacy might be tarnished, I mean of course we the hardcore fans who know the inner-workings and the dirty tactics of the Promoters and such, we would probably accept Pac's innocence.But what about the casual fans?The media etc...they would forever have doubts of Pac and I'm not sure if Pac would be willing to go through that for money???

The daily News is not a tabloid. It is not as credible as the New York Times but the only US papers that are are USA today, The Washington Post and maybe the LA times. Tim Smith is a respected boxing writer. He has been around the game for a while. I honestly dont think he would quote something that wasnt from a reliable source. Hes been in the game too long for that.
