Saw a report on BoxingScene that the Holyfield v. Botha fight could be postponed. Was this speculation purely based on the fact that its gone a little bit quiet on the issue? I hope it isn't true, but have always doubted whether this fight in Uganda would ever happen.
A few media reports have emerged with information on the undercard, but I did suspect finances could be a problem. It seems to have been the cause behind the cancellation of Evander fighting an overblown Super-middleweight in Ethiopia and a nobody in Korea.
Holyfield can still fight, he's still a warrior and people will still pay to see him. However, I fear he's demanding bigger pay packets that anyone will be prepared to splash out on a 47-year-old who hasn't won a bout in a couple of years.
I often wonder what would have happened to the Real Deal has justice been served against Valuev? Would he have retired? Or seeked a pay-day against Haye or one of the Klitschko brothers?
If this fight does happen - good luck Evander, and stay safe!!
