    I rewatched Rafa Marquez/Tim Austin

Remember the Cincinnati Kid Tim Austin? He was the 118lb champ at the beginning of the decade and was looking good on HBO with something like a 10 title defense win streak. Then he fights Rafa is actually winning the fight with his boxing, gets caught in the 8th hurt, battered around the ring and the ref stops it.....in a rematch if Austin had not fallen off after this fight, I would have picked him to win on points. A shame Austin stopped boxing shortly after and never rematched Marquez for the title. He certainly had enough skill to outpoint him, but he should have moved up too 126 long before this he looked massive at 118 and no doubt he was cutting a **** load of weight just so he could hang on to his strap for so long.

You're being too generous. Austin was up after about 4 rounds, but Rafa started to starch him in the 5th and on.

The fight was close on the cards when Rafa stopped him. In a rematch Rafa stops him again.

Rafa is so underrated around here its comical. He also beat Mark 2 Sharp Johnson, a guy who was as slick as they come. Also by knockout.

Lets not forget that until the 2nd Vazquez fight, Rafa ruled 118 for almost 5 years straight without a loss and knocking everyone out.

The fight itself was a surprise to me too though, up until that point Tim Austin seemed unbeatable at 118, so I was shocked to see Rafa ice him.

I thought Tim adjusted and won the 6th and 7th after he got battered a bit in the 3rd and 4th......he just got too reckless and ******ly tried too hard to get Rafa out of there and got caught hurt and stopped.
