Roy Jones was on diet pills(ripped fuel) OMG he's a bum without them!!

Ripped Fuel is a form of weight loss supplement created to help people boost weight loss results. Created by Twinlab Corporation®, the pill has many supporters and detractors in the fitness and nutrition communities. Ripped Fuel is available without a prescription at many drugstores and through online retailers, but all warnings should be read and carefully considered before taking the supplement.
so he took some ripped fuel that contained some androstenedion?

Androstenedione has been shown to increase serum testosterone levels over an eight-hour period in men when taken as a single oral dose of 300 mg per day, but a 100 mg dose had no significant effect on serum testosterone. However, serum levels of estradiol increased following both the 100 mg and 300 mg doses. The study also reported that the serum level of estrogens and testosterone produced varied widely between individuals. A 2006 review paper summarized several studies which examined the effect of androstenedione on strength training. At dosages of 50 mg or 100 mg per day, andro had no effect on muscle strength or size, or on body fat levels. One study utilized a daily dosage of 300 mg of androstenedione combined with several other supplements, and also found no increase in strength when compared to a control group that did not take the supplements. The review authors speculate that sufficiently high doses may indeed lead to increased muscle size and strength. However, due to the federal ban on androstenedione supplements, it is difficult to carry out new research on its positive and negative effects. The review authors conclude that individuals should not use androstenedione supplements due to the lack of evidence of beneficial effects, the wide variation in individual responses to the supplement, and the risk of unknown side effects.
it was banned in 2004, Jones AND his opponent(Richard Hall) tested positive in 2000(legal back then)

but some ****** writer decided to put his name in there in an article when announcing the banning of the substance

Jones never tested positive for anything again prior or later to that

Answers is the place to go to get the answers you need and to ask the questions you want

The post-fight drug test showed Jones and Hall both tested positive for androstenedione, which is a banned substance by the IBF. Androstenedione is a natural steroid hormone that was commonly available over the counter as a supplement until 2004 when the FDA made the over the counter sale of androstenedione illegal. Jones admitted to taking the product "ripped fuel" which was sold in GNC and every nutritional supplement outlet. Jones was able to keep his title and was not fined or suspended for the positive test. All of Jones' other post-fight drug tests before and after this fight came back clean. He ended the year by stopping Eric Harding in the 10th round of a one sided fight, once again successfully retaining the title.

Roy Jones Jr. and Richard Hall both tested positive for the testosterone precursor androstenedione after Jones defeated Hall to retain his undisputed world light heavyweight championship in Indianapolis in 2000. Jones insisted his test was the result of ingesting the supplement Ripped Fuel.

After Roy Jones, JR. defeated Richard Hall in 2000, both he and Hall tested positive for the androstenedione, a substance banned by the IBF. Jones admitted taking a produce named “Ripped Fuel” which contained androstenedione, a natural hormone which was available over the counter until 2004 when it was made illegal by the FDA. The IBF took a lenient stance to Jones' positive test, declining to fine or ban him and letting him keep his title.

I dont think that the problem was that he tested positive, it was the fact that he was 6x over the accepted level and Hall was 10x over the limit. Im told the whole thing was covered in the Ring Magazine. Does anyone have a link?

He cheated, used a banned substance. Are you going to believe that just because he wasn't caught taking anything else that he didn't take anything else? sorry but just like Carl Lewis, Linford Christie, Marion Jones and Antonio Margarito a shadow is cast over their character and 'achievements' called into question.

I think the point of this was to point out the fact that the substance was banned 4 years after he tested positive for it. At the time of the testing it was not banned, hence the lack of consequence.
