    The Aftermath- Mayweather/Pac

Now hopefully the fight will somehow be salvaged, but at this point it looks like its done. I personally feel like its bull**** that they couldnt reach an agreement. Its very dissapointing that they could come to terms on everything including the purse split so quickly and then hang up like this over some blood tests.

Now there are two sides to this- Floyd fans have every right to feel like Pac is scared or cheating by not being willing to submit himself to some tests. He is an elite level athlete and this is the biggest fight there could possibly be, why not step up and take the best tests out there and prove to everyone you are clean and fight on a level playing field? By not taking the test it makes Pac look like he is not clean.

On the other hand- No fighter has ever had to take these tests. Why should Pac all of a sudden have to do what no one else has to? He has passed every test he has had to take before with no problems or questions. Pac fans have every right to feel like camp Mayweather is looking for a way out of the fight as well.

Either way, both sides are to blame for this for not being able to reach a compromise. It is not just one of their faults.

If Pac goes on to fight Malignaggi, I will not buy it or support it. Pauli has shown in his loses to Hatton and Cotto that he can be competative against elite fighters but not a threat. Dont get me wrong, Pauli is a decent fighter but no better than JMM. If Pac takes this fight I expect him to catch as much heat as Floyd did for fighting Marquez. If he is just buying time till later in the year or a Floyd fight I suppose I can understand Pauli being a name but not very dangerous.

If Floyd doesnt fight Pac he had better make a fight with the winner of Berto/Mosley. I suppose if Berto wins the fight isnt as important as if Shane wins. I wouldnt mind letting Berto build his name more before fighting Floyd if he does beat Shane. The only other fighters off the top of my head that I would let Floyd slide would be Pwill, Bradley, and Clottey. I suppose if Pac take Pauli and Floyd takes on someone like Collazo to preserve the Pac fight for later in the year it is somewhat forgivable. Also I wouldnt mind seeing him go to 160 and beat Sturm for a middleweight belt.

That said I hope the just make the ****ing fight or stop talking about it because both of them could just man up and make it happen if they wanted to.

Pacquiao-Malinaggi holds no appeal for me. Pauli hasn't just lost when he stepped up, but he's recently had off nights where he simply didn't look impressive; that 2nd N'dou fight was almost a gift. He doesn't have enough power or size to really trouble Pac, and if some freak accident happened and he beat him- well, that wouldn't be a good replacement for the Pacman train, now would it?

Anyway, Floyd fighting Mosley isn't a bad fight- but I'd still be let down if Pac-Mayweather is really dead. It just seems like everything else is going to pale in comparison.

        Pretty much.

I mean Pauli isnt the worst fight that could be made but the fact that the Floyd fight is right there and Arum seems like he has no intention of compromising really sucks. Its almost as if he doesnt even care-for the fans or the sport.

****, I'd rather watch Pacquiao fight Paul Williams, drained and Skeletor looking, than Pauli or Foreman.

I think this whole thing has to do with the March 13 date. They could not promote such a huge event in such a short period of time. IMO that is why they do not want to compromise on anything. IMHO the fight is being eyed for September.

Both will take an easy interim tune-up fights. Pac would fight Paulie. And, I am hearing that Floyd might go to the U.K and fight Matthew Hatton or there top British prospect in Kell Brook. I wouldn't even be shocked if you see a Floyd-Oscar rematch in May.

I see this fight happening in September. I always felt March was too soon. I never believed they were going to fight on that date. That is why I never got excited and my hopes up. And, that is why I am not disappointed now.

It is the fault of both sides to some degree anyways, there is certainly enough blame to go around.

Manny fighting Malinaggi is not really a figh that interests me although I will watch it after the fact because watching Paulie get roughed up should have decent entertainment value but no real reason to watch the fight when it happeans since there is not to much drama in what will happean.

Honestly I do not see to much drama in Mayweather-Mosley either but I have wanted to see that fight for a while so I would most likely watch. Williams would probably be the fight he would get the most credit for although people are beginning to understand what Williams is, still people will just look at his physical attributes and say he should give him a problem on that alone.

It is basically the same situation for both men, they can make fights and get paid what other boxers can only dream about and there are some decent opponents out there. Still they would be giving up a lot of money by not fighting each other so it is hard to see them not comming together to fight at some point in the near future.

Yea that crossed my mind too.

I really wouldnt be too dissapointed if Floyd fights Mosley. Fighting Hatton would suck but as a business move and to buy time I can see why it would make sense. Id like to see Floyd take a much more meaningful fight than that but if they have an eye on September than I guess it is what it is....

Oscar is looking pretty tubby these days....

Paulie is a decent fight, at best. Paulie is active enough to score on Manny and quick enough to give him fits... for about 5 rds. We all know that May isn't going to fight Mosley/Berto winner in May. No way, No how. I'd love to be proved wrong. Can't see how anybody could justify a Mayweather/M.Hatton fight. Sounds like May "steal some more money".
