To add to this, Cotto's doctors said he'd be fine at 145, just try and avoid going lower than 144.

Well its not the drug testing itself that makes it a conflict of interest, its the damaging comments by schaeffer that makes it so.

As for Cotto and 145, it could be double standard, but Cotto did not take any action, therefore to him there is no conflict.

i think there's more to it than that.

i read golden boy talked to the usada people 3-4 months ago about pacquiao.

pacquiao/arum can make a case that golden boy is not serving pacquiao's interests yet benefiting from him financially.

i think uncle bob found away to get rid of golden boy's cut.

i think golden boy would have made more money from this fight than top rank would have.

Correct. But that was the settlement agreed to by Top Rank and GBP. It was basically an "installment" type settlement rather than Top Rank writing GBP a big check at the time. GBP has never actively been perceived as Pac's "lead promoter", so I just dont see the conflict.

That is a fairly accurate assement, that is why it would have been easier just to suck it up and do it, there would be little fanfare surrounding this whole issue. Now it is a big deal because he refused people will look at it any number of ways if the fight goes down no matter what goes on with the drug testing.

I would not have really cared about this issue that much had it not come up but this whole ordeal amkes me want to see Manny get tested because refusing testing like this is just not a good look. In this day and age just trusting an athlete is something I can not do.
