Samuel Peters; an overhyped Danny Williams?

The guy is only 24 and thinks he is so good. I've seen his last fight, and I wasn't impressed. He is a heavypuncher but he lacks natural skills. He still needs a good 12 fights have enough experience be ranked top 10. If he fought Byrd right now he would get destroyed. Thats why I have so much respect for Taylor, he knows he has time to wait and improve his skills before fighting Hopkins or for the championship at all. Peters is too ****y. I don't think he has felt a real heavyweight punch so far in his career. He will be in for a big surprise when he does. However I still think he has some potential in the future.

What was his last opponent's name, Diaz? Either way, that guy hit Peter a few times before he ran out of gas, and when he hit Peter, Peter stopped coming in, period. Diaz doesn't even have a punch lol. Imagine if it was Danny Williams, what would happen then? Peter would be scared to death to fight him! And no, I'm not a Williams fan, but he does have a punch. I can't stand Peter, I want to see Wlad ruin him so we don't have to hear about him for a while.

I can't really see the Williams-Peter connection. I imagine Peter would hit a lot harder, though Danny has more technical skills (something he didn't show in either of his last two fights)

I apologize for the confusion. What I meant is that Samuel Peters can be compared to Danny Williams in the way his career is shaping out. He is AS overhyped as Danny Williams, and Danny Williams beat Mike Tyson to get his exposure. Samuel Peters hasn't done anything and is already talking so many promises.

If he fought Byrd he would get destroyed huh? Who the **** has Byrd destroyed? Chris may run around and outpoint him but destroy him...impossible, Byrd probably won't record a ko the rest of his career and to go even farther he will probably never hurt another fighter the rest of his career.

Byrd is different now days...he is not nearly as effective as he was a few years ago...Peter would give him trouble just like every other HW Chris fights...

When was the last time Byrd had an easy fight? It has been a while.

Chris Byrd would tire out Peters, and win technically. He would destroy him on the scorecards.

If the fight ever happens then we will have too bet...Byrd is not the elusive fighter he once was, you could make a case that he has lost his last three decisions.

Sorry Deuskie, it was my fault for being narrow-minded. Yeah, I see what you mean.

The weird thing is, Danny had already been around for five years pre-Tyson, most of which time he was ruling at domestic level and getting bored with the level of competition.

Actually, having said that, Peter has been around for over four, 22-0 (19 KOS).

                  hmm

                  1) Diaz does have good power.

                  2) Peter is not overhyped. Most people see him for what he is. A prospect who has a chance at being a contender in the near future, but needs more experience.

So what if he thinks he is great? Most fighter talk like that.

                    1) Diaz has so so power. Its certainly nothing to call home and brag about.

                    2) I wish this statement were true because I agree with its take on Peter.
