Does steroid or performance enhancers use ends justify the means?

I mean really? (Now Pinoys and Pac fans don't come in here defending Pac because this has nothing to do with him).
For example, Alex Rodriguez, Sammy Sosa and Barry Bonds plus more. These guys became millionaires and very well known figures in sports and were helped by steroids. They are all just men, some came from very poor backgrounds. Now they have fame, large houses(many houses), cars, ***elry and many women. All those things plus the money stay with them even if they are banned from playing. So is it worth it?

Some say your health but some men that never touch steroids die in the street shot innocently, die by accident, die of cancer, die of HIV and much more while never experiencing the finer things in life, never have money or fame or anything else.

Look at AROD ....guilty, but it is forgotten if he continues to do well and also winning a championship makes people forget.
    Barry Bonds broke records-Rich
    James Toney -Rich
    Holyfield - Rich
    Vargas-Rich
    Mosley-Rich
Basically if you win, put money in the seats, break records, "rep your people"
Everyone will turn a blind eye even if its semi-obvious your on some sort of "Performance enhancer". For business, for fanaticism, for money and for the fact that the user is from the same country you are from.

Not to mention you live a life that most will never see.
So does the ends justify the means? In the end it is your body.

there is nothing wrong with a fighter or any athlete for that matter taking roids, if everyone is taking them then it is ****** of you not too aswell.

This has nothing to do with ethics, the only person who faces the consequences is the athlete and his health. That being said, steroids and other PED's are fine as long as they are not abused.

SO yeh, the ends do justify the means.

if they're illegal, the answer is NO.

now if there is/was no rule against a specific drug, it'd be hard to condemn somebody for using....unless they come out later and deny that they ever used.

The fact that they are Illegal are irrelevant, That is the whole point of the thread. If you are banned after you got your millions and no one can take the money from you, then does the end justify the means?

you didn't make the thread complicated, you made it unclear....

depending on WHO you are, is basically the answer to the question.

if you are the athlete, then the answer would be yes......

if you're a fan, and you expect everybody to be playing on a "level" field the answer would be no.....

of course that all changes if the athlete was using roids, that weren't banned at the time he was using. if it comes out at a later date, this guy was using this, but it wasn't banned when he was using, i don't think anybody can say **** about it........that all changes, and the player opens himself up to criticism if he decides to lie about ever using though.

Only time I think steroids are okay for use is during recovery from more severe injuries. There are some things that the human body can't naturally recover from and in those instances I see it as being fine.

To become a better athlete through roid/PED/HGH use is cheating yourself IMO.
