What's happening with Marco Antonio Barrera?

He hasn't fought since his loss to Khan in March.

I remember hearing a rumor about him fighting some lightweight champion, a while ago, but nothing since.

    Is he retiring or what?

I haven't heard anything about him fighting recently, so I assume he's practically retired.

Are you from the states? If so, he works on a boxing show on ESPN Deportes called Golpe a Golpe. I've pretty much only seen him on there.

He still lives with his rich parents and I think he's gonna become a lawyer because his commentating job isn't going too well at ESPN Deportes. Morales is chasing after him for a fist fight and Barrera is gonna punch him in the face and then take off running.

MAB was a beast in his prime but he's way past those days now. I'm guessing he's retired since he's on spanish ESPN.

Yeah, I've seen him on that show. Apart from that, nothing. There was a rumor that he would be fighting a lightweight champion (I think Paulus Moses) but that was a little while ago and I've heard nothing about his fight plans since.

I watched an old fight of his and the announcer said Barrera was attending law school and planned on retiring in a couple years to persue that. That was 16 years ago.

that amir khan fight was a total farce i would not want to end my career like that. guy gets slashed in the head with an axe in the first round and they let it continue for 4 rounds just so khan can "beat a legend" even in the fifth round barrera lands a good right hand and sags khan's legs. the fight is stopped shortly after that to make sure nothing like that happens again. all the while the cut is exactly the same.
