    Mayweather's Illegal Painkillers

Do you know the reason why GBP ditched the Texas venue for the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight even if it meant less revenues?

Mayweather can't fight in most states, with Nevada among the few exceptions, because he is using illegal painkillers.

    Sharkie's Machine April 21, 2002

Saturday night at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Floyd Mayweather Jr. faced WBA Lightweight Champion Jose Luis Castillo for the 135 pound title…Castillo’s title. Floyd’s 130-pound title however, would not be on the line, only Castillo’s. The fight was televised by HBO. If the Judges decided that Castillo would win, he would only be retaining his title and not gaining one from titleholder Floyd Mayweather Jr. Hey, that’s fair, right?

Before the fight began, HBO’s Jim Lampley and George Foreman discussed hand injuries with references to Floyd’s recent hand problems. They said that Mayweather has been known to use hand-injected painkillers like Xylocaine, which is illegal in some states. Such painkillers could be more dangerous in the long term, since fighters with numbed hands hit harder since they cannot feel their hands at a time when they could be unknowingly damaging them.
Xylocaine (generic name Lidocaine) is also often added to ******* as a diluent. ******* numbs the gums when applied, and since lidocaine causes stronger numbness, users get the impression of high-quality ******* when in actuality, the user is receiving a diluted product.

Point of clarity. I am not saying that Mayweather is abusing illegal and highly regulated drugs. However, it is public knowledge that he is using hand-injected painkillers that are illegal in most U.S. states. He should be required to explain if indeed they are used to treat hand injuries or if they are being used before fights to numb his hands.

Update: Upon more in-depth research, I found out that Nevada also bans lidocaine use by boxers.

"There would’ve actually been precedence for making such a request. It was revealed prior to his failed middleweight title bid against Bernard Hopkins in 2004 that de la Hoya took Lidocaine, a pain killer deemed illegal by Nevada State Athletic Commission standards, to speed up the healing process for a cut suffered on his hand. Hopkins appeared visibly upset when informed of the news prior to their fight, but didn’t seem too bothered by it after stopping him in the ninth round, or joining up with Golden Boy Promotions a few weeks later."

What does that mean? Both Floyd and DLH using a substance banned also in Nevada?

i made a thread about this about brittle hands, xylocaine and ******* .
and if xylocaine is being used IV, then it can be abused and act as *******, giving you extra boost...
