WBC featherweight champion Elio Rojas (21-1, 13KOs) will see hostile ground on February 20 when he defends his title against veteran Guty Espadas Jr. (45-7, 28KOs) at the Poliforum Zamna in Yucatán, Mexico. Rojas makes his first defense since winning the title from Takahiro Aoh in July. Espadas has won seven in a row since being knocked out by Rocky Juarez in 2004. The level of opponent was well below the quality of Rojas and Espadas still struggled to win a few of them. [Click Here To Read More]

Why the **** does Don King do so bad promoting Elio?
Last time he went to Mexico he was absolutely robbed in a fight he clearly won against Gamaliel Diaz and that fight caused him to lose his title shot against Jorge Linares.
He traveled to Japan to win a world title in his last fight, and now King is sending him back to Mexico to defend again?
For those who don't know, Rojas is Dominican, and he's fighting Mexicans in Mexico. He's the world champion. If anything, they should put this fight in the Dominican Republic.
Rojas needs a new promoter. -
So he was gonna face Linares? WowWhy the **** does Don King do so bad promoting Elio?

Yep, he traveled to Mexico to fight Gamaliel Diaz in an eliminator and got robbed. Diaz got the shot and Linares knocked him out.
Thankyou. I mean come on, King has done so awful with him. King keeps Elio extremely innactive, and sends him to fight in random places on untelevised undercards in ****in Missouri, Ohio, Arizona and then in his most important fights he's gone to Japan and Mexico. He fought on ShoBox once and then disappeared.
I agree. Top Rank would do a MUCH better job. They are a lot better at promoting lighter fighters and Latino fighters than King. Hell they could even throw him on one of the Latin Fury PPVs to get his name out there.Comment

I totally agree! Fu@king Don King sucks! I won't be surprised if he looses in Mexico! Hell, I don't think he has a chance! Mexico is one of the worse places for any foreign fighter to have a chance! So, unless he knocks this guy out (he is not a power puncher) he has only but a little chance....this is sad news! I feel for him.
HE NEEDS A NEW PROMOTER! DUMP THIS IDIOT KING!Comment

King's a turd, but if Rojas can't stop or win every round against a washed-up fighter like Espadas, I'd be shocked. This is an easy defense. Hopefully King will get him fights on his home turf when he defends against somebody legitComment
