What if he lost or struggled against Cotto? Floyd doesn't exactly push a fast pace and Cotto would be quite comfortable being the cautious stalker against Floyd.

Cotto is too slow imo. Margarito was beating Cotto to the punch even with 'plaster' making his fists heavier. That says something about Cotto's handspeed. His footwork also sucks imo. You have to literally stand in front of Cotto and barely throw punches so that he can beat you.

I love when Mayweather fans bring this **** up. At the time Cotto only had about 20 professional fights, Mayweather is not the guy to fight with that little experience. Mayweather probably wants to fight Shawn Porter now as well, but 2 or 3 years from now if Porter is calling out Floyd you're going to say **** like "Well... he wanted to fight him 2 years ago but he said no." Of course its going to be a no, the guy is far too inexperienced to go against someone like Mayweather, use your brain. That being said, Cotto would still give Floyd the toughest fight of his career even coming off the Manny loss. I can still see Cotto winning, though I wouldn't put money on it simply because of the corner, they don't know how to train him. If Cotto would put his uncle back in his corner he'd be right where he was a before the Marg fight I think. Until that happens he's going to be Gatti-esque in that he'll fight to the best of his ability, fight with heart, put on a good show but come up short.
