like ive told many people on here, most people in america would rather support their sub ethnic culture before they would support one of their own here. The fact is, america has had hundreds of fantastic fighters to grace the ring and very few countries even touch our legacy. So for instance, majority of pac fans here are actually american, but would they back an american like floyd or mosley against pac, even though they were born in the same country, or in mosleys case, the same state? No.

Most people are more proud to be something else than they are american. Just ask Brian Viloria, youd never guess he was on the AMERICAN olympic team the way he wrapped the filipino flag around him like he was born and raised there.

When floyd made the appeal for american fight fans to get behind him, other americans on here just make a mockery of it. this is a guy who proudly represented this country during the olympics and look at how hes treated. it goes beyond weather people like him or not, its more to do with people just care more about their great great grandmothers country more than they do here. People can deny it, but look at how many american flags are in signatures compared to others. majority of posters here are in the united states, yet dont give a *** about american fighters for the most part.

America is a country of individuals. You can express yourself and have pride in whatever the **** you want here.

Im not telling people what they should do, im telling you and everyone else what people would rather do. Thats their right. lol @ youre hyperbolic "IF YOU DONT LIKE AMERICAN GO LIVE IN RUssIA"

look into the context of what im saying. most people dont support american born fighters, or when they do, its because they are apart of the same sub ethniticity. Is that not a fact? Or are you going to continue with

"IF YOU DONT LIKE IT, GO MOVE TO RUSSIA"

Because they know that Mo**ey Mayweather isn't being sincere. Him saying that, really meant, pull it out of your pockets.

How do you expect everyone to support Mo**ey Mayweather after what he stated on 24/7 Mr. My **** is paid for, is yours. When everyone is going through tough economic times, foreclosures up the @ss !!

Are you f**kin' kiddin' me ?

Atleast you hear PAC thank not just his countrymen, but everyone who supported him for his fights. PAC - "I'd like to thank everyone who supports boxing"

Floyd represented this country during the olympics, with Team USA. He has every right to rally for that support. He also rallied for american support for the hatton fight, when he didint have any of his IRS or money mess out in the open. So what if hes using it to gain more attention to himself and more interest in the fight? For someone like me who proudly wore the american flag on my shoulder in my tour in the desert, id be the first to accuse mayweather of simply being an ass, but i just dont see that.

Floyd is caught between wanting to be the guy who is loved by his country, and having to be an ******* to sell the fight. the duality of his personality is hypocritical, but i dont think he uses a rallying call for american support strictly for the sake of being a selfish prick.

Yeah right, then he must be really d*mb then. You don't bite the hands that feed ya, as they say.

If he wants support from his own country, well, PAC's a great example on how to go about it !! Do you realize, that PAC's popularity in America have gone beyond the Filipino community, that's evident at who shows up at his fights, the folks that show up at WCG. Its' different now than before, I've seen it with my own eyes.

Yet, Mo**ey Mayweather goes around Vegas and hardly anyone notices him even with his big bodyguards. Don't give me this **** about America having too many sports stars, because it wasn't too long ago that De La Joto was getting mobbed by fans and that's when Jordan was king and many others !!

Mayweathers style, multiplied by his lack of a sub-ethnic fanbase which boxing today thrives on is why he is in the position hes in. During whitakers prime he had the same exact problem, he was arrogant, and had a style that people simply couldnt relate to, he was untouchable half the time, and he had next to no following outside of the state of ******ia. he always fought the best and he was also labled a "runner" etc

De La Hoya had an exciting style, a fantastic story as well as great looks (no ****) long before he even turned pro. Not to mention, Oscar was soft spoken and very likable.

Jordan, im not gonna compare an NBA star to boxer in todays sports envoirment, especially a pioneering superstar who plays the most glamerous position in the sport, the 2.

Pacs popularity is a reflection of his style, and the excitement he brings because of it. Mayweathers style has never been and never will bring that level of excitement. Ever.

like i said, look closely at what i said about whitaker.

There are so many great fighters from all over the world, If you truly love boxing, you like fighters for their character and their skill and disregard where they hang their hat. Thats my take on it but I have no problem with others that support their countrymen first.
