Let me first say I'm a Pac fan. I feel all the actions and responses from his team is completely ruining his reputation.
1. Not agreeing with the test. - It is only human to get defensive when one receives false accusations especially about drug use. BUT . . . If you're an athelete/superstar you have to be used to false accusations and you have to respond in the politically correct way. He could have simply said yes to the test and this would have be a non-issue. This is the one of the only sports when you can get back at your opponent by punching them in the face. Isn't that the sweetest revenge.
2. Blaming Floyd and accusing him of not wanting the fight- This is a cop out. How can anyone blame Floyd for wanting additional blood test for someone many (not just Sr.) believe is taking HGH or some kind of steroid. This is fair. BOTH FIGHTERS ARE TAKING THE TESTS.
3. The compromise - There isn't any compromise to random testing. You cannot allow the athelete to pick which days he wants to take the test. That totally defeats the purpose. Drugs such as HGH is undetectable in 48 hours. So if an athlete knows when he's going to take the test he can cycle off the drug. If the athlete is on something it would be only in training and not in the actual fight.
4. The proposed Malignaggi fight - This is absolutely absurd. I hope this is some sort of warm up fight before Floyd in the fall. But still this is just a kick in the butt to all boxing fans.
