If you're the first black president in US history and someone asks to check your pockets before leaving the Whitehouse, would your response be any different if they offered to allow you also check their pockets? And could we infer the reasons for your refusal were anything other than you being a dishonest person?
Imagine if ***** was asked to retake his law exams just to make sure that he's as intelligent and educated as people claim him to be (a demand unprecedented in the history of the US presidency). Would it not be understandable for him to refuse, based on principle alone? Or would this give us adaquete evidence to dispute his legitimacy as a president?
(If a security gaurd singled you -- and only you -- out and asked to look through your belongings "just in case you've got something in there", is the issue that "you shouldn't be bothered if you have nothing to hide" or the principle that all people should be held to the same standards as their peers? Again, does the security guard offering you to check his pockets make the situation any more fair?)
[BTW, I'm an follower of both fighters; I just think people are jumping all over Pacquiao prematurely at the moment and that there's a lot of context being dropped when analysing this issue; it isn't as simplistic as "just take the test if you have nothing to hide."]
