Should Vazquez vs. Marquez IV be sanctioned???

If it's signed it should be sanctioned. But these two would take a paycut if they fought now. Both have been away from the game and neither has a title. If they both won a couple more fights and possibly a title it would increase the value of a 4th match by alot.

That might be an exaggeration at this point. As far as I know neither Marquez or Vazquez has shown any signs of mental decline. Some guys (see George Chuvalo, Carmen Basilio, countless others) took an obscene amount of repeated punishment in the ring and walked away from the sport seemingly intact.

There are also countless fighters who didn't walk away from boxing fine. Unfortunately that's how this sport goes. IMO it's the greatest and most pure form of competition in the world, but people get hurt (and die) in this sport. That's why boxers are so highly regarded by everyone-- they put their life on the line every time they step in the ring.

You can't deny them of their livelihood now because something MIGHT happen later.
